NATIONAL CONFERENCE
Abington 3, Neshaminy 2
After falling behind 2-1, Neshaminy picked up a fourth-set win, but Abington pulled out the decisive final set to earn a 3-2 (25-21, 18-25, 25-22, 17-25, 15-12) victory in Tuesday’s game.
"Credit to Abington who had a ton of energy and played a well-rounded game today,” said Neshaminy coach Pat Klingerman. “We just came out flat yet again. Made a ton of unforced errors and could not get out of our own way today."
The Ghosts improve to 2-4 in National Conference play (3-5 overall) and will host neighborhood rival Cheltenham at 4:45 pm Tuesday. Neshaminy drops to 2-3, 4-3, and returns to action at Bensalem at 5 pm Tuesday.
AMERICAN CONFERENCE
Pennridge 3, Central Bucks West 1
Evan Jalosinki dished out an eye-popping 44 assists and made 10 digs as Pennridge remained undefeated on the season with a 3-1 (25-19, 25-23, 19-25, 25-15) win over Central Bucks West in Tuesday’s battle of two of the American Conference’s top teams.
Bryce Ammon contributed 25 kills, 7 digs, and 6 blocks to the Rams’ sixth win in as many matches this season. Logan Jalosinski added 13 kills, 17 digs, and 4 aces, Chris Cullen had 8 kills and 4 blocks, Aaron Ladd picked up 7 kills, 11 digs, 2 aces, and 2 blocks, and Tyler Smith had 2 kills and 8 digs.
For the Bucks, Dean Nguyen registered 8 kills and 12 digs. Cooper Tyksinski and Logan McHenry each had 7 kills. Liam Boyle dished out 26 assists and added 8 digs, while Caleb Woodring picked up 21 digs. Christian Woo had 4 kills and 2 aces, while Baron Streibig picked up 9 digs.
Pennridge improves to 6-0 (5-0 in American Conference play) on the season. The Rams put their undefeated record on the line when they host Quakertown at 6:30 pm Thursday. West drops to 5-1, 6-2, and will look to return to its winning ways at home against Upper Dublin at 6:30 pm Thursday.
Upper Dublin 3, Souderton 1
Corey Pendleton and Gabriel Copley each racked up 15 kills and Scott Barenbaum registered 33 assists as Upper Dublin earned a four-set win over Souderton in Tuesday’s American Conference game.
Pendleton also picked up 2 aces, 8 digs and 1 block, while Copley served 2 aces, and had 4 blocks. Barenbaum added 1 kill and 3 digs to his assists. Zakary Brown had 7 kills, 3 aces, 5 digs and 2 blocks, Dominick Plaku had 1 kill, 1 ace and 14 digs, and Michael Loose chipped in with 6 digs.
Kelly Kim had 32 assists and 9 digs for Souderton. Derek Stefanowicz registered 16 kills and 11 digs, Colton Musselman had 6 kills, 3 blocks and 7 digs, Gio Iervolino added 5 kills and 2 blocks, and Everett Self had 19 digs to go along with 3 kills.
The Cardinals remain atop the American Conference at 6-1 (7-1 overall) and will visit Central Bucks West at 6:30 pm Thursday. Souderton falls to 1-4, 3-5, and will visit North Penn at 6:30 pm Thursday.
Central Bucks East 3, Quakertown 0
Reid Miller drilled 10 kills to go along with 3 blocks and 2 digs to help Central Bucks East to a straight-sets (25-21, 25-18, 25-21) victory over Quakertown in Tuesday’s American Conference matchup.
Ryan Coxey picked up 17 assists along with 1 kill and 2 digs for the Patriots, who also received strong efforts from Evan Blank (3 kills, 4 aces, 2 blocks, 10 digs), A.J. Helveston (5 assists, 6 kills, 3 blocks, 3 digs), Tommy LeFever (7 kills, 4 blocks), Shane Sutton (2 kills), Caleb Lyzinski (3 kills, 1 block), Josh Ostrander (1 ace) and Kyle Knorr (1 ace, 13 digs).
Owen Williams led the Panthers with 10 kills, 1 block and 12 digs. Tyler Moyer had 13 assists, 3 kills and 4 digs. Owen Reinford had 8 kills and 5 digs, Sean Gillin registered 9 assists and 8 digs, Quinn Costanzo had 15 digs, and Alex Alfaro-Diaz came up with 2 kills, 3 aces and 2 digs.
The Patriots improve to 3-2 in American Conference play (4-4 overall) and will face neighborhood rival Central Bucks South at home at 6 pm Thursday. Quakertown moves to 0-5, 1-5, and will visit undefeated Pennridge at 6:30 pm Thursday.
