ABINGTON 3, WILLIAM TENNENT 0 (25-18, 25-18, 28-26)

The Ghosts celebrated Senior Night with their biggest win of the season, a sweep of the visiting Panthers.

“William Tennent is a competitive team that pushed us throughout the night,” Abington coach Jason Barshinger said. “We are beginning to really gel at just the right time.”

Setter Coliin Mulvihill had 24 assists, three kills, four digs and one block. Leading the Ghosts at the net were Xavier Voit (10 kills, 1 dig, 2 aces, 2 blocks), Myles Winegrad (10 kills, 27 digs, 4 aces) and Zach Miller (6 kills, 15 digs, 1 block). Jake Kosick led the Ghosts’ defensive effort with 23 digs to go along with one assist. Also contributing were Ben Holler (3 kills, 7 digs, 1 ace), Michael Lyou (1 kill, 2 digs) and Patrick McBride (5 digs).

Abington (12-6, 7-6) will host Council Rock South on Wednesday, and William Tennent (13-3, 11-3) will host La Salle in a non-league match on Wednesday.

 

COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 3, COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 0 (25-12, 25-15, 25-13)

The Indians rolled to a sweep in a contest against their neighboring rival.

Dylan VanSchaik handed out 29 assists and also had six digs. The Indians’ attack was led by (Anthony DePalo (10 kills, 1 block, 3 digs), Brady Klein (8 kill, 6 digs) and Nick Alleborn (8 kills, 2 blocks, 3 digs). Leading the defense were Nick Cirincione (15 digs) and Jack DePalo (10 digs).

Council Rock North (17-5, 11-3 SOL) will host Neshaminy on Wednesday, and Council Rock South (2-17, 2-13) will host Abington on Wednesday.

 

PENNSBURY 3, BENSALEM 0 (26-24, 25-22, 25-22)

The Falcons earned a sweep of the visiting Owls, who hung tough in all three sets, but the Falcons prevailed.

Setter Jon Nixon was credited with 25 assists, two kills, four digs and five blocks. A balanced Falcon attack included Nate Sadley (10 kills, .350 hitting percentage, 1 assist, 2 aces, 2 digs, 4 blocks), Noah Maslow (5 kills, 3 aces, 1 dig), Nate Knapp (5 kills, 2 aces, 6 digs, 3 blocks) and Brian Drewes (4 kills, 2 aces, 4 digs, 1 block). Brady Burgfechtel’s 12 digs led the Falcons’ defense. He also had one kill and three aces. Evan Brown added one kill and two blocks.

Pennsbury (7-8, 6-7) will travel to Bensalem (9-9, 4-9) on Wednesday.
 

NESHAMINY 3, CHELTENHAM 0 (25-11, 25-7, 25-23)

The Redskins received contributions from a lot of new faces in Tuesday’s sweep of the Panthers.

Ryan Dott (17 assists, 1 ace, 2 digs) and Liam Smith (10 assists, 1 ace) shared setting duties. Contributing to the attack were John Nice (8 kills, 1 dig, 1 block), Peace Adebayo (5 kills, 4 aces, 2 digs), Joey Labella (6 kills, 2 aces, 5 digs), Jackson Young (4 kill, 1 block) and Aiden Hastings (6 kills, 3 blocks, 2 aces). Toby Kovashetz had eight digs.

Neshaminy (17-0, 13-0 SOL) will be on the road at Council Rock North on Wednesday, and Cheltenham (0-14, 0-13) will host Pennsbury on Thursday.

 

SOL American Conference

 

PENNRIDGE 3, NORTH PENN 0 (25-16, 25-12, 25-18)

The Rams – sparked by a strong service game - rolled to a sweep of the visiting Knights.

Bryce Ammon (6 kills, 2 aces), Thomas McKinney (7 kills), Tyler Johnson (4 kills, 2 blocks), Nick Smith (4 kills, 2 blocks) Jude Rotondo (4 kills, 7 aces) and Gavin Stayer (2 kills) all contributed to a balanced attack. Setter Riley Kodidek had 21 assists and three aces. Alex Derk had seven digs and three aces.

Pennridge (14-1, 12-1 SOL) will host Central Bucks East on Wednesday, and North Penn (7-10, 5-8) will host Quakertown on Wednesday.

 

UPPER DUBLIN 3, CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 0

The Flying Cardinals clinched a share of the conference title with their sweep of the Patriots.

“Well deserved to a great group of boys,” UD coach Paul Choi said.

Setter Cole Brown handed out 25 assists and also had four digs and two aces. David Levin led the UD attack with 13 kills, 12 digs and three aces. Benjamin Dorsey added seven kills and eight digs, and Terrell Turner had five kills and two aces. Dominick Plaku led the Cardinals’ defense with 17 digs and one assist.

The Patriots were led offensively by AJ Helveston (6 kills, 5 assists, 1 dig), Josh Lyzinski (5 kills, 2 kicks, 1ace), Andrew Perillo (4 kills), Matt LaBouliere (4 kills, 4 1/2 blocks, 10 digs, 12 assists), and Pat Haurin (2 aces, 2 kills).  Defensively, East leaders included Steve DiRugeris (7 digs), Reid Miller (3 digs, 1 ace), Ryan Coxey (3 digs, 4 assists), and Aiden Leichter (1 ace, 1 assist, 11 digs).

Upper Dublin (14-4, 13-1 SOL) will await its seed in the upcoming district tournament. Central Bucks East (9-8, 7-7) will travel to Pennridge on Wednesday.

 

SOUDERTON 3, CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 0 (25-13, 25-17, 25-19)

The Indians celebrated Senior Night with a sweep of the visiting Titans.

“Senior Night was an awesome experience to see all five of our great seniors on the court together the entire match,” coach Luke Pinto said. “Congratulations Andrew Brown, Kavailya Bhatt, Tobie Lias, JC Peacock and Jeremy Garboso. You will do amazing things in your future.”

Souderton (9-9, 8-5 SOL) will host Unionville in a non-league match Wednesday, and Central Bucks South closed out its season with a 2-18 record (0-14 SOL).

 

CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 3, QUAKERTOWN 0 (26-24, 28-26, 25-22)

The Bucks eked out a win in three tightly contested sets.

For the Panthers, Micah Reinford (13 kills, 1 block, 11 digs), Zander Marks (7 kills, 4 blocks, 10 digs) and Andrew Sturgess (4 kills, 4 blocks) led a balanced attack. Setter Cody Steiert had 25 assists, two kills, one block and one ace. Kurt Glaeser (9 digs) and Logan Parker (8 digs) helped anchor the defense. Also making contributions were Isaac Moises (2 kills, 4 blocks), Kevin Richwine (2 kills, 4 digs, 1 assists), Anthony Clark (3 digs) and Phil Richwine (1 dig).

Central Bucks West (5-14, 5-9 SOL) will host Souderton on Thursday, and Quakertown (5-12, 4-9) will travel to North Penn on Wednesday.
