Central Bucks South 3, Central Bucks East 2 (24-26, 25-20, 26-24, 21-25, 15-9)
The Titans celebrated their four seniors with a hard-fought win over cross-town rival CB East on Senior Night.
The match came down to a winner-take-all fifth game where, according to coach Frank Sharp, South’s aggressive blocking and serving allowed the Titans to pull out the big win.
Appropriately, the Titans were led by their four seniors. Senior John Clemens led the team with 20 digs to go along with his 16 kills – both a season high. Senior right side hitter Jeff Sharp added 16 digs and 13 kills. South’s senior middle hitters, Kevin Williams (20 digs, 15 kills, 4.5 blocks and 4 aces) and Everett Zaluski (16 digs, 13 kills, 4 blocks and 2 two aces), showed why they are such an important part of the offense. Colin McNamee, South’s junior setter, added 62 assists over the five-game match with junior left side hitter Steve Grant adding 11 digs, 13 kills and 1.5 blocks.
“It was nice at this point in the season to see improvement in our game overall and that we have the ability to execute a balanced attack like we did tonight,” Sharp said.
