The Pennsbury girls’ team captured the team title and CB East’s Jake Brophy won the boys’ race, breaking the course record. Check back for a feature article about the SOL’s strong showing at Saturday’s PIAA Class AAA Championships.
The Pennsbury girls’ squad captured its fourth team title in the last four years, edging out Unionville in the team competition 68-73. Leading the way was junior Olivia Sargent, who finished second overall behind Shaler Area’s Brianna Schwartz (17:39) with a time of 17:48. Hannah Molloy finished eighth (18:36).
Also finishing in the top 10 was Pennridge senior Marissa Sheva, who captured fourth place with a time of 18:08.
Central Bucks East finished 10th in the team standings.

On the boys’ side, Central Bucks East’s Jake Brophy stole the spotlight, finishing first and shattering the course record with a time of 15:24. He defeated second place Kevin James from Cardinal O’Hara by 14 seconds (15:38). Hatboro-Horsham’s Casey Comber captured sixth place with a time of 15:48, and Pennsbury’s Sam Web was seventh with a time of 15:49.
In the team standings, Central Bucks West finished sixth (206 points) while Council Rock North was ninth (210 points)
