Check out some of the top SOL finishers in cross country invitationals this weekend.
North Penn Girls’ Capture Team Title at Steel City Invitational
The Maidens finished first at the Steel City Invitational, posting a score of 24 to edge second place Coatesville (35). Neshaminy finished third (77). Phoebe Clowser was the Maidens’ top finisher, capturing second with a time of 19:04. Ali Valenti (19:30) and Sarah Tung (20:04) finished third and fourth respectively.
In the girls’ jayvee race, the Maidens had the top four finishers as well as the sixth, eighth and ninth place finishers to finish first among the junior varsity teams with a score of 16.

62nd Annual George School Invitational
The Council Rock North boys’ team captured first place out of 19 teams at the 62nd Annual George School Invitational, finishing with 43 points. Holy Ghosts Prep was second with 80. Brian Arita and Sean Griswold, finished in second and third place with times of 16:16.00 and 16:51.35, respectively. Arita’s time met the national silver standard. Rock North’s jayvee also won the team title, capturing the first four individual spots in the race.

The Council Rock North girls’ squad finished fourth out of 20 teams at the 62nd Annual George School Invitational with 121 points. The Indians finished behind Friends Central (86), Archbishop Wood (110), Gwynedd Mercy Academy (115). Riley Engel was the top Rock North finisher, capturing eighth place with a time of 20:06.00. The Rock North junior varsity team finished first.

Chris Fretz Cross Country Invitational
Hatboro-Horsham’s Casey Comber and Souderton’s Connor McMenamin finished one-two at the Chris Fretz Cross Country Invitational. Comber crossed the finish line in a time of 15:48 while McMenamin posted a time of 16:14. Both times met the national silver standard.
The Hatters won the team title with 37 points, edging second place Perkiomen Valley (51). Souderton was fourth with 111 points. The Hatters (27 points) also won the junior varsity race, and the Indians (119) finished fourth.
