SOL Boys/Girls Lacrosse Wrap (3-31-12)

Boys

PENNSBURY 8, EMMAUS 5
The Falcons, who led 1-0 after one quarter, opened up a 5-1 halftime lead on their way to the important non-league win. Goalie Drew Sweetland had a big day in the net, turning away 14 shots while midfielder/face-off specialist Evan Caterson went 10-for-16 at the X to help the Falcons control the game.
Sean McDonald led the Falcons with three goals and one assist. Calvin Hopkins, Andrew Probst, Ryan McDonald, Luke Matthew and Colin Sullivan each had one goal. Hopkins also contributed two assists while Caterson, Sean Heilferty, Ryan McDonald, Sean McDonald and Andrew Probst all added one assist. Both teams took 18 shots.

RIDLEY 10, ABINGTON 5
The Ghosts received single goals from Ryan Ambler, Brian Gallagher, Shane Dunn, Matt Malloy and Matt Lomady. Ambler, Lomady and Josh Kluver each added an assist. Travis O’Connor was credited with eight saves in goal.

Girls

RIDLEY 16, ABINGTON 15
The Ghosts suffered a heartbreaking loss on Saturday, falling by one goal to the Green Raiders. Junior Meredith Cox led the attack with five goals while Jeannie Van Buren added four goals. Kelsey Fitzgerald and Allison Rooney both added two goals. Elisa MacColl had one goal and seven draw controls. Katarina Thallner also added a goal. Kate Margolis was credited with 12 saves in goal.
