CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 6, CONESTOGA 4

Conestoga jumped out to a quick two-goal lead and led 2-0 after the first period. East fought right back to score three unanswered goals in the second quarter to go ahead 3-2. Conestoga came back to tie the game with 3:41 remaining in the second quarter. East immediately responded when sophomore Ryan Brown – who led the Patriots with the hat trick - scored with one second remaining on the clock in the second quarter to give the Patriots a 4-3 lead at the half.
East opened the second half by scoring two goals in the third quarter to take a 6-3 lead heading into the final frame. Conestoga kept the game close by scoring a fourth quarter goal to narrow the East lead to 6-4.
East had an outstanding defensive game, led by senior goalie Sean McGovern who had 13 saves and senior LSM,Dustin Buchanan, who had four forced turnovers and scooped up five ground balls.
Senior Jack Auteri won 9-of-12 face-offs for the Patriots, who turned in a tremendous team effort.
Central Bucks East is 3-0 on the young season while Conestoga is 2-1.

UPPER DUBLIN 4, AVON GROVE 3 (2 OT)
The Flying Cardinals overcame the elements to win a thriller on Saturday night, eking out a 4-3 win over Avon Grove when Nicholas Vernacchio scored 57 seconds into the second overtime period.
It was Vernacchio’s second goal of the night. Michael Sowers and Connor Wall each added single goals in a contest that was dominated by the respective defenses.
Avon Grove scored single goals in the first and second quarters to go into halftime with a 2-0 lead, but the Flying Cardinals came out of halftime and scored three unanswered goals in the third quarter. The Red Devils scored the equalizer in the final period, setting the stage for overtime.
UD goalie Bobby McPeak was credited with eight saves in the win while Liam Brodie stopped nine shots for the Red Devils.
Avon Grove received single goals from PJ Rafferty, Doug Jones and Jon Moroz.
Upper Dublin improved to 4-0 while Avon Grove dropped to 1-2.

RIDLEY 14, CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 2
Reece Udinski scored a goal and also had an assist while Clark Hawes added a single goal for the Bucks. Will Ross also contributed an assist in a contest that saw the Green Raiders open up a 4-0 lead after one period on their way to a 5-0 halftime lead.
Nolan Fox led Ridley with a pair of goals. The Green Raiders held a 21-17 advantage in shots.
West goalie Steve Hogan turned away 13 shots.

Girls
WISSAHICKON 8, PENNSBURY 3
The Trojans overcame a tough challenger in Pennsbury, rallying from a 3-2 halftime deficit to outscore the Falcons 6-0 in the second half.
Coach Patty Kovacs credited a strong Pennsbury defense for double and triple teaming the Trojans, and it was Lauren Irvine who got the Trojans rolling with a goal off the draw 11 seconds into the second half to knot the score. It marked the beginning of a 6-0 Trojan tear.
Also contributing goals for the Trojans were Shannon Stagliano, Emily Vervlied and Carolyn Wilde with two each. Marie Dickson added one. Irvine, Vervlied and Stagliano each also contributed an assist.
Trojan goalie Julie Silverman was credited with 12 saves.
“(She) had an amazing game,” Kovacs said.

CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 18, MOUNT ST. JOSEPH 15
Senior Jacq Fitzgerald and sophomore Bryn Boylan both turned in monster performances for the Bucks. Both scored six goals, but that was just the tip of the iceberg. Boylan also had eight draw controls, eight ground balls and one assist. She was a perfect 6-for-6 on shots.
“Bryn had a fantastic game all around,” coach Tara Schmucker said.
Fitzgerald also had eight draw controls, one caused turnover and three ground balls.
The win came on the heels of a disappointing loss to Plymouth Whitemarsh on Wednesday.
“We still have a long way to go, but we proved today that despite turnovers, losing intensity at times and making inexperienced decisions, we could fight back and come out with a win,” Schmucker said.
Elle Ueland and Olivia Fitzgeral both added a pair of goals with Ueland adding a pair of assists and Fitzgerald chipping in with an assist. Finley Ueland contributed a goal and an assist while Meghan Tillger also had a goal.
West goalies Molly Naylor and Lauren Devlin combined for five saves.

SOUDERTON 13, UPPER PERKIOMEN 1
The Indians rolled to a convincing win over the Tribe on Saturday, opening up an 8-0 halftime lead and never looking back. Carlie Doughty led a balanced attack with three goals while Natalie Bulgier and Amber Lambeth both contributed two goals and two assists. Krista Schneider added two goals, and Kristen Gibbs, Juliana Ofalt, Brittany Roynan and Rachel Judge each had one goal for the Indians, who evened their record at 1-1.

Joe Tornetta, who built a powerful lacrosse program at Great Valley, is hoping to do the same at Owen J Roberts, and on Friday, the Wildcats used an overpowering second half to defeat the defending SOL champion Indians. OJR led 7-3 at the intermission and then outscored its visitors 10-4 in the second half.
Amber Lambeth led the Indians with three goals, and Natalie Bulgier had a pair. Julia Ofalt and Kyra Shank both had one goal.
Souderton goalie Kelly Williams was credited with 10 saves.
