The Falcons continued their scoring run when Charlie Rushing’s shot off a restart was fumbled by the keeper. After the Panthers received a red card for rough play out of bounds, the Falcons found their stride.
“We settled down and gained some possession,” coach Tom Stoddart said.
Alex Kardos scored game winner with eight minutes left off an assist by Enid Curvec, giving Pennsbury its third one-goal victory this season and upping the Falcons’ record to 3-0 overall and 2-0 SOL.

The Knights, however, found the net once more in the 74th minute when Tim Langton assisted Matt Robinson for the game winning goal.
Central Bucks West 1, Central Bucks East 0 (2 OT)
A battle between cross town rivals West and East is always an exciting one, but the Bucks and Patriots made sure this one kept everyone on the edge of their seats.
The teams went back and forth the entire 80 minutes of regulation and ended up deadlocked 0-0. A 10-minute overtime would go by scoreless with both keepers turning away every shot, setting the stage for a second overtime.
Finally, six minutes into double overtime, Steven Cornwell found the back of the net after a restart on a corner kick to end the 96-minute thriller.
West coach Steve Detweiler commended the efforts of both teams
“It was back and forth,” the Bucks’ coach said. “It was pretty even and could’ve gone either way.”
Detweiler also acknowledged the performance of East keeper Jacob Nesteruk, saying, “He made some really good saves to keep them in it.”

NATIONAL CONFERENCE
Pennsbury 3, William Tennent 2
The Falcons were eventually victorious in this conference nail biter against the Panthers. Early in the first half, Tennent’s Alyssa Christianson opened up the scoring with a goal off an assist by Megan Murphy. The Falcons answered with a goal by the dangerous Uche Onuoha to send the teams into the half gridlocked 1-1.
It didn’t take long for Onuoha to find the net again as the second half got underway (this time assisted by Lexy Brown), but the Panthers would answer again as Jess Lee found the net in the 65th minute to tie the game 2-2. A few minutes later Megan Engeland sent her corner kick into the middle to varsity newcomer Alexa Moors, who scored the game winner for the Falcons.
Coach Kaitlyn Battiste credited Moors, a junior midfielder who had minimal varsity time last year, for scoring the key goal.
“This was a big time goal for her,” the Falcons’ coach said. “She stepped up and volleyed the ball into the back of the net. She has been consistent, but this is her first goal of the season.”
Battiste also commended Abby Wick, noting, “She did an awesome job controlling the middle of the field. She played really well.”
Keeper Courtney Bennent helped ward off the Panthers by turning away six of their shots, Battiste credited Tennent’s keeper with some great saves.
The Falcons improved to 2-0 in the league (3-1 overall) while the Panthers (0-2, 1-2) are still looking for their first win in the league.
On Wednesday night, the Falcons will host a 'Kick Out Cancer Event' when they face Council Rock South for a junior varsity/varsity doubleheader at Macclesfield Park on River Road. Ghosts Julia Guarini, Kayla Nolan and Destiny Walters fought hard to hold off the Indians, but they were outmatched.

CONTINENTAL CONFERENCE
Hatboro 5, Souderton 1
The Hatters picked up a much-needed win over Souderton to even their record at 1-1 in the SOL. They got off to a fast start as Sydney McNutt scored with a header off the corner from Ramsey McMenamin just two minutes into the game. The Hatters scored again when McMenamin found Tory Adlam in front of the net to go on top 2-0.
Souderton’s Kara Waskiewicz scored off an assist from Haley Tierney, but McNutt found the net once again before the end of the half, sending the Hatters into the intermission with a 3-1 lead.
The second half belonged to Hatboro as Lauren Brophy and Marykate Bateman both scored with McMenamin assists, giving McMenamin four on the night.
Souderton keeper Jaclyn Parry turned away eight of Hatboro’s shots, but it wasn’t enough.
“After our loss Thursday night against CB East (which is) obviously one of the biggest teams we will play against, the girls were feeling deflated,” coach Kate Lamplugh said. “Today's win was a whole team effort - the result of organized defense and a strong offensive showing,”
Lamplugh was happy to see her team not only recover but also learn from its mistakes.
“Every game they’ve taken something away, and it helps us build our team,” the Hatters coach said.
North Penn 1, Central Bucks South 1 (2 OT)
After battling through a scoreless first half, North Penn’s Katie Miller scored the first goal of the match in the 49th minute. The Titans weren’t finished though as Taylor Matsinger scored off a fluke ball that slid by Maidens’ keeper Laura Leonard.
Matsinger has been key for the Titans as she has scored in every game this season.
“She is playing well, her goal was a little lucky,” South coach Joe Bocklet said.
The Titans now find themselves with two league ties after a thrilling battle last week with Pennridge ended 2-2.
“We had some injuries from Pennridge and we moved girls around,” Bocklet said. “Neither team had many good scoring chances, but we are working hard to come together.”
The Titans, according Bocklet, are still looking to find their identity defensively, and he is hoping they will figure it out before Wednesday night’s game under the lights at Quakertown.

One of East’s key returnees, Aimee Chimera, answered with a goal to put the Patriots up by one. The Partiots never looked back. Erin McQuate and Taylor Myzsa each added a goal to finish off the Bucks.
“The CB West girls put up a really good battle,” East coach Paul Eisold said. “They didn’t quit and they continued to persevere.”
Eisold commended the efforts of Shaun Kane at forward as well as defenders Jess Haug and Mariah Lichter. The Patriots improve to 2-0 in the SOL as they look to continue with the same confidence level going into some tough league match-ups this week.
