HARRY S TRUMAN 4, BOYS LATIN OF PHILADELPHIA CHARTER 0
The Tigers scored a pair of goals in the first half and added two more in the second to earn their fourth win of the season.
Osvaldo Rodriguez opened the scoring, following the rebound of his own shot and finding the net to spot the Tigers a 1-0 lead. Zack Hopely made it a 2-0 game, also scoring on a rebound – this time of a shot by Ricky Pierre Toussaint. The Tigers took that 2-0 lead into halftime.
“We had many chances, but their keeper made some good saves,” coach Matt Terry said.
Mert Yildrim scored off a feed from Wendell Matthews, giving the Tigers a 3-0 lead. Yildrim found the net with his second goal of the game, turning an Artie Dingley throw-in into the game’s final goal.
“Ayoub Fask, Adam Fask and Wendell Matthews were solid in the midfield,” Terry said. “Our backs played extremely well, limiting Boys’ Latin. Artie Dingley, Emre Aydin, Edwin Rivera, Jon Hamilton and Richie Hrouda were extremely effective.”
Jon Abarayak and Timmy Tran combined for the shutout win in goal.
“We received solid contributions in the win from Deep Patel, Andrew Johnson, Nnamdi Ofoegbi, Meet Salan and Hector Reyes,” Terry said.
Harry S Truman (4-5-2, 0-5-2 SOL) will travel to Council Rock North on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. game.

QUAKERTOWN 1, SOUTHERN LEHIGH 0
Haley Hangey scored with 11 minutes remaining in the opening half of Monday’s non-league game with an assist from Sam Barkholz.
“It was same way we’ve been scoring – it was a restart that Sam served into the box and Haley finished,” coach Mike Koch said.
Hangey’s goal turned out to be the game-winner.
“Even though there was only one goal scored, it was an end-to-end game,” Koch said. “It was a very high-paced, fast game with lots of opportunities. It was a hard-fought game.”
The Panthers’ coach lauded the strong play of several players.
“I thought Barkholz and Hangey had good games like they always do,” Koch said. “They really do so much for us.
“I also was particularly pleased with my outside backs, Gianna Monastra and Haley Gordon. Southern Lehigh is very good at attacking the flanks, and they did an outstanding job of shutting that down.”
The win was the sixth of the season for the Panthers, who won just three games all of last season. They are 21stin the latest District One 6A power rankings.
“It’s nice to have a winning record and play meaningful games in October,” Koch said. “We take small goals one at a time, and we’ve achieved the goal of playing meaningful games in October, so that’s a good thing. I’ve got a good group of kids. They just come and they bring it and they play hard every game.”
Quakertown (6-5-1, 2-4-1 SOL) will host Pennridge on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
