SOL Boys/Girls XC Wrap (9-12-15)

Abington Invitational
North Penn’s Ariana Gardizy captured the individual title at the Abington Invitational with a time of 19:26, finishing seven seconds ahead of Strath Haven’s Maia Mesyngier (19:33). Teammate Phoebe Clowser was third with a time of 19:48. The Maidens finished second to Strath Haven in the overall team standings.
On the boys’ side, Abington senior Jake Good captured the individual title with a time of 16:28. Abington finished third overall.

On the boys’ side, Central Bucks East’s A relay team finished first with a time of 44:12. Pennsbury’s A squad was third.
Central Bucks East’s A team was the first SOL girls’ team, finishing in third place with a time of 54:50.

PTXC 7 Presented by New Balance

Pennridge senior Tucker Desko captured sixth place and was the top SOL finisher with a time of 16:19.88. Souderton junior Connor McMeniman finished eighth with a time of 16:23.35 at the PTXC 7. Council Rock North had the best finish of the SOL teams competing, capturing fifth place with 199 points. Pennridge was ninth with 259 points. Other SOL teams competing were Hatboro-Horsham (11th, 270 points), Council Rock South (13th, 353 points) and Souderton (14th, 375 points). Stone Bridge captured the 21-team event with 113 points.
On the girls’ side, Central Bucks West senior Maddie Villalba was the top SOL finisher, capturing eighth place with a time of 19:13.85. The Bucks finished third in the team standings with 150 points. Souderton was the only other SOL girls’ team competing in the event. The Indians finished 17th (397 points). Easton Area was the team champion, beating out 17 other teams in the event with 101 points.

Bulldog Cross Country Invitational-Rose Tree

Wissahickon’s Lukas Marcelis was the second individual to cross the finish line at the 26th Bulldog Cross Country Invitational, posting a time of 15:57.7 to lead the Trojans to a second place finish in the team standings behind only Methacton at the seven-squad event. Teammates Matt Maiale (eighth, 17:38.3), Andy Harman, Wiss (10th, 17:53.4), Randy Schwemmer, Wiss (11th, 18:05.2), Kannon Ramanathan (20th, 19:09.2) and Evan Benbow (26th, 19:47.2) also had strong performances.
On the girls’ side, Wissahickon senior Lotte Black finished third with a time of 19:36.8. Teammates Kendall Quesenberry (11th, 22:16.6) and Elyse Kauffman (17th, 23:38.7) also finished in the top 25 for a Wissahickon squad that was second to Methacton in the team standings at the five-team event.
