The SOL had players on both Southeastern PA and Bux-Mont in Wednesday’s Carpenter Cup action. Both teams came up short.

The SEPA Carpenter Cup Team lost a heartbreaker Wednesday, 2-1, to the Catholic League on a walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh. Great pitching and defense are the keys to advancing in the Carpenter Cup tournament. SEPA received strong performances from five different pitchers: Reed Courtier CRS, Will Seiler CRN, Peyton Shaw CRN, Preston Martin CRN, Jimmy Clark CRS.
“All of our pitchers have great arms and we're dominant through 6 2/3 innings,” said New Hope-Solebury coach Tony Vlahovic.
Jude Hamilton (CR North), Owen McLean (CR South) both had doubles, and Hamilton scored the lone run. Cole Guy (Bristol) and Jake Kramer both had singles.
“Defense was excellent with a web gem from Jake Keaser Holy Ghost Prep,” Vlahovic said. “Our coaching staff of Matt Schram and Jarrett Patman from CRN and Greg Paprocki CRS are excellent coaches and have made the Carpenter Cup experience a memorable one for everyone involved. I always enjoy coaching with them.”

Burlington County put a run on the board in the first inning, and that would turn out to be the game-winner. In the bottom of the sixth, Burlington added an insurance run.
Bux-Mont managed just five hits. Wissahickon junior Joshua Stonesifer accounted for two of those, finishing the game 2-for-2.
Central Bucks East junior Jason Abert allowed two hits in two scoreless innings on the mound. Upper Moreland junior Nick Simons threw one scoreless inning.
