The SOL stole the spotlight at the 11th Annual John Sharp Viking Invitational on Friday.
Wissahickon senior Lotte Black won the varsity girls 5000 meter run with a time of 19:50.50 while Central Bucks East senior Jake Brophy captured the boys’ 5000 meter with a time of 15:48.10. The Pennridge girls’ won the team title while Central Bucks West captured the boys’ title.
Five SOL runners on the boys’ side turned in performances that met the national silver standard, including Brophy, Central Bucks West senior Rock Fortna (16:10.70), Wissahickon senior Lukas Marcelis (16:18.30), Central Bucks West junior Brian Mass (16:24.30) and Council Rock South senior Joe Maguire (16:26.60).
