Abington defeated Wissahickon in Saturday’s District One AAAA third place game.

The Ghosts jumped out to a 10-5 lead at the end of one quarter only to watch the Trojans explode for 23 second-quarter points to go into halftime with a 28-21 lead. Chris Carrodorini scored all eight of his points in the quarter to lead the Trojans while Jordan Reed scored seven of his team-high 23 points in the frame.
The Ghosts responded with a 17-10 third quarter run to knot the score 38-38 heading into the final frame. Matt Penecale led the way with six points while Jordan Simmons added five of his team-high 20 points. The Ghosts won it with an 18-14 fourth quarter that included 11 points from Anthony Durham, who finished with 17. Durham was a near-perfect 7-of-8 from the foul line in a quarter that saw the Trojans bury 12-of-14 from the charity stripe.
