#5 CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 3, #12 UPPER DUBLIN 0
The Patriots opened district play with a sweep of the visiting Cardinals.
“Tonight was a great way for us to start our 2016 district run,” coach Scott Geller said. “We knew this would be a test of our mental toughness after splitting the season series with them earlier this year.
“We’ve worked hard on overcoming that, and it proved it tonight. Our boys have told us they are ready for the challenge. Great combined all-around play is what helped us prevail tonight and all season. We can’t wait to see what awaits us next.”
The Patriots were led at the net by Chris Woolslayer (12 kills) and Carter Haban (10 kills). Adding five kills each were Pierce Budson, Eric Chmiel and Jared Minschwaner. Kyle Schmauk led the defense with five digs while Haban, Woolslayer and Mason Miller each had three. Pierce had a pair of blocks.
Central Bucks East will do battle with fourth-seeded Central Bucks West on Friday night.
