The Bucks won in a five-set thriller in Friday night’s spirited second round district match between the neighboring rivals. After the Bucks won the first two sets, the Patriots came roaring back, setting up the winner-take-all fifth set.
The Patriots received double-digit kill efforts from Eric Chmiel (14), Carter Haban (14), Pierce Budson (11) and Chris Woolslayer (11). Woolslayer also led the defense with 12 digs, Jared Minschwaner and Andrew Bennett both added seven, and Mason Miller had six. Kyle Schmauk added five and Haban, four digs. Minschwaner had a team-high three aces while Woolslayer and Haban had two each. Budson had three blocks.
Central Bucks West will face top-seeded Council Rock North in a semifinal match at William Tennent on Tuesday 7:30 p.m.
