Central Bucks East Jake Brophy defended his individual title at Friday’s District One AAA Championship. Brophy finished four seconds ahead of second place Jaxon Hoey (Downingtown West) with a time of 15:09, besting a field of 375 runners who completed the race at Lehigh University.
In the team standings, the Central Bucks West boys finished second to favored Downingtown West. Council Rock North and Central Bucks East finished fourth and fifth, respectively, and also will compete in the state meet.
On the girls’ side, the Pennsbury girls’ team captured gold to maintain their stronghold in district competition. Senior Olivia Sargent (17:36) finished second to Downingtown West’s Aislinn Devlin, and teammate Hannah Molloy (17:59) was fourth
