Check out some of the special fundraisers and special events that will be held at SOL schools in the upcoming weeks.
SOL EVENTS and HAPPENINGS
Tuesday, Oct. 1, 7 p.m. - Dig Pink Tournament at Central Bucks West. Central Bucks West will host Central Bucks East at 7 p.m., but the doors will open at 4:30 p.m. There will be a silent auction, food, clothing sales and raffles. All proceeds will go to The Side-Out Foundation.
Tuesday, Oct. 1, 7 p.m. - Pink Night, Central Bucks South at Pennridge Girls’ Soccer, Proceeds to benefit breast cancer research.
Thursday, Oct. 3, 7 p.m. – Pink Out Night, Quakertown at Pennridge Boys’ Soccer. Community Night as well.
Friday, Oct. 4, 7 p.m. – Pink Out Night, Council Rock South at Harry S Truman Football
Friday, Oct. 4, 7 p.m. - Pink Night, Upper Merion at Springfield Football
Saturday, Oct. 5 – William Tennent Girls’ Volleyball will host a tri-match with Upper Dublin and St. Basil, raising money for a new scholarship fund at the school in honor of 1995 William Tennent graduate Brad Fox. Fox was a marine and a Plymouth Township Police Officer who was tragically shot and killed on duty while pursuing a suspect. He was the father of two and died the day before his 36th birthday on Sept. 13, 2012. The scholarship will be given out each year at Senior Awards Night at Tennent to a senior that displays citizenship and is looking to pursue a career in law enforcement. Donations will be accepted at the match or by contacting Tennent coach Brian Bassler at bassbr@centennialsd.org.
Monday, Oct. 7, 3:30 p.m. – Pink Game, Council Rock South at Pennsbury Field Hockey. The players will make shirts and a bake sale will be part if the event which will also include the sale of various items. This year pink drawstring bags with the words ‘We’re all in this together’ will be sold.
Monday, Oct. 7, 7 p.m., - Dig Pink Night, Methacton at North Penn Girls’ Volleyball. Raffles and games will be part of the night.
Monday, Oct. 7, 7 p.m. -Kick Out Cancer, Council Rock South at Pennsbury Girls’ Soccer. The game will be played at Macclesfield Park in Yardley.
Thursday, Oct. 10, 7 p.m. - Norristown at Plymouth Whitemarsh Girls’ Volleyball, Senior Night
Monday, Oct. 14, 5:15 p.m. - Dig Pink, Hatboro-Horsham at Plymouth Whitemarsh.
Thursday, Oct. 17, 7 p.m. - Upper Perkiomen at Pennridge Girls’ Soccer, Senior Night
Friday, Oct. 18, 7 p.m., Upper Dublin at Springfield Football, Homecoming
Friday, Oct. 25, 7 p.m., Council Rock North at Harry S Truman, Senior Night
