HATBORO-HORSHAM
Hatboro-Horsham head coach Gary Pagliaro’s keys to the game:
“I think the key is going to be to continue to try and get better and play consistent football. Right now we still have a lot of kinks to work out with our offense. As much success as we had on Saturday (against Central Bucks East), I still think we have things we need to get better at. We just have to try and basically create some turnovers and not have turnovers of our own.”
Players to watch:
Dom DeFazio (Sr.) – Running Back/Linebacker
Casey Saverio (Sr.) – Running Back/Defensive Back
Matt Schuck (Sr.) – Offensive Guard/Defensive Tackle
Sean Black (Sr.) – Center/Defensive End
Frankie Colontuono (Sr.) – Linebacker
Coach Gary Pagliaro says:  “The kids are starting to gain a little bit of confidence. This is a big game for both schools. Both of us are 3-1, and it’s the type of thing where the winner of Friday night’s game is going to put themselves in a much better situation coming into the thick of the Continental Conference.
“We’re 3-1, and I give the kids the credit for that. Last year, as a coaching staff, we went into a game plan thinking how are we going to stop the other team. The tide changed a little bit now, and we feel a lot more confident. Now we’re on the opposite end of the spectrum and asking how are they going to stop us.
“I have all the respect in the world for Quakertown. George Banas is an outstanding coach. He’s going to have those kids ready to play. The thing I’m going to tell my kids is they’re going to have to play all-out football for 48 minutes.

QUAKERTOWN
Quakertown head coach George Banas’ keys to the game:
“The key will be protecting the football. When we look at two weeks ago when we played Cheltenham, we took the ball away – or they gave it up – a bunch of times, and last week we probably had 12 fumbles, but we lost three of them. One of them was in the end zone, which was key. That’s what it’s going to come down to – who’s going to make the least amount of mistakes on Friday night.
“Both sides of the ball – O-Line and D-Line – are going to be extremely important this week, especially playing on a grass surface again on Friday night at our place. The lowest man is going to win. They have quite a bit of size up front, and they explode off the ball. Whoever can play lower and explode and get in each other’s backfield and cover each other up on offense is going to prevail. I think our skill kids will do better this week, and we have to take care of penalties. We had 10 or 12 penalties, and they’re drive killers. We started off the game last week, and we’re moving the ball. All of a sudden, we have three penalties, and now we’re looking at second-and-25, and we just can’t do that to ourselves. Right now it seems we’re our own worst enemy.”
Players to watch:
Zac Gravelle (Sr.) – Quarterback
Justin Wieder (Sr.) – Running Back
Mike Potynski (Sr.) – Running Back
Matt Roberts (Sr.) – Wide Receiver
Brodey Wambold (Sr.) – Right Tackle
Chris Varichione (Sr.) – Right Guard
Nate Flath (Jr.) – Center
Graham Fox (Sr.) – Defensive End/Left Guard
Ryan Cosgrove (Sr.) – Left Tackle
Brandon Mirachi (Sr.) – Defensive Line
Tyler Ross (Sr.) – Defensive End
Ryan Dunn – Defensive Tackle
Ryan Coleman (Sr.) – Linebacker
Coach George Banas says:  “Hatboro is very much improved from last year. I was able to see them live against CB East, and I was extremely impressed with how powerful their running game is. They are a very physical team offensively and defensively. They have four or five running backs that can all be dangerous, and defensively, they fly around. They’re not going to stand around and wait for you to come to them. They’re going to bring it to you, and they’re building on their offense. Two weeks ago they were able to drive down and score on their last possession (in a win over CR North), and last week, they were able to handle themselves against CB East, so they have a lot of confidence, which is key for high school players.
“It’s absolutely critical to be 4-1 at this stage in our league. You’re not going to be able to get where you want to go unless you have seven wins this year. With our schedule – we both play the same teams, and I’m sure we’re circling the same games and making sure we take care of business in those games. If you can sneak another win out here or there, you get to seven.”
