Sophia Wasyliw connected for a hat trick to lead the Titans to a non-league win over the Flying Cardinals.

Just over 10 minutes into the game, Wasyliw scored a goal that turned out to be the game-winner, using an Erin Smith assist. Six minutes later, Wasyliw found the cage again, this time with a Maddy Cooper assist. The Titans took that 2-0 lead into halftime.

Wasyliw (Anna Gillard assist) completed the hat trick 10 minutes into the second half. Maddy Connell’s goal with a Braylee Webb assist closed out the scoring with 8:40 remaining in regulation.

The Titans held a decided advantage in shots (30-0) and corners (18-1).

UD goalie Rhianna Gonzales was credited with 26 saves in a busy afternoon.

“UD’s goalie had an excellent performance, and UD’s defense had several nice clears,” South coach Pat Toner said. “While CB South controlled the majority of the game, UD’s defense made it difficult to get any uncontested shots on goal.”

Jillian Heilig was not forced to make a save in the shutout.

Central Bucks South (9-6, 5-5 SOL) will host North Penn on Thursday, and Upper Dublin (3-10-2, 2-8-2) will travel to Wissahickon on Friday.
