LOWER MORELAND 5, JENKINTOWN 1
The Lady Lions opened their season with a decisive non-league win over the visiting Drakes.
Cara Torgan’s two-goal effort led the Lions, who scored single goals in each of the first three quarters to go into the final frame with a 3-0 lead. They added a pair in the fourth quarter.
Maci London, Mollie Martin and Ashley Avington had one goal each. Avington and Roya Rosal had one assist each, and Sofia Fey had two assists.
Jenkintown’s lone goal was scored by Scarlett Griffen with an assist from Lexi Lumon.
Coach Janet Lutter: “All 22 players contributed to the win with very good overall play. We moved the ball around the field and found our open players and spaces. With only four returning starters, the past two weeks have been spent putting the pieces together and everyone has been working hard.

Ten different players contributed to the scoring for the Redskins in Monday’s decisive road win over the Eagles.
Maddy Shtino led a balanced attack with two goals and an assist. Kasey Rieger and Norah Saloky each connected on a pair of goals. For Rieger, it was her fourth and fifth of the young season. Adding single goals were Paige Comer, Alayna Roscoe and Chloe Brison.
Ava Arbakov contributed a pair of assists, and adding one helper each were Claire Saloky, Mia Brooks and Taylor Tenaglia.

Kelly Longmore played the role of facilitator in Monday’s non-league win. The senior midfielder scored one goal and assisted on four others to lead a balanced Golden Hawk attack.
Ava Leonetti contributed a hat trick, and Sarah Freeman had a hand in three goals, scoring once and assisting on two others. Ava Trotman scored two goals while Hannah Erickson and Mia Schink each scored once. Maria Freeman chipped in an assist to the Hawks’ potent attack.

Coach Kelly Cappellano: Kelly Longmore, Sarah Freeman and Maria Freeman did a really job spreading the field for us and getting the ball in the circle. Ava Leonetti was consistently in the right spot, and it paid off with a goal every time.

METHACTON 3, SOUDERTON 1
The Warriors erupted for a pair of goals in the third period, opening up a 3-0 lead on their way to the win in Monday’s non-league game.
Methacton’s Carmila Maro scored a goal early in the first period. Neither team scored again until the Warriors connected on back-to-back goals in a three-minute span in the third quarter. Aubrie Weismantel scored the Indians’ lone goal late in the third period.
