The Suburban One League National Conference showcases a battle of conference unbeatens this championship week as Pennsbury (4-0) is on the road to meet Abington (5-0).
A victory by Abington will give the Galloping Ghosts an undefeated conference mark with a season finale next week against Central Bucks West in a non-league game.
In order for Pennsbury to claim an outright conference title, the Falcons must first beat the Ghosts and close out the SOL National schedule in the regular season finale against rival Neshaminy.
The Pennsbury-Abington game not only has SOL National Conference implications – but also PIAA District One implications as well. The Falcons are currently ranked #16 in the district, while the Ghosts are currently ranked # 3.
Stay tuned!!!!

The SOL Continental Conference showcases a battle with championship ramifications as unbeaten Central Bucks West (5-0) is on the road to play once beaten Souderton (3-1).
A victory by Central Bucks West would secure the Bucks an outright SOL Continental Conference title. CB West will close the season with a huge non-league game with Abington.
A victory by Souderton would give the Big Red a shot at a possible 2-way or 3-way SOL Continental title. The Indians lost to North Penn two weeks ago, but a win over West could create a 3-way deadlock if the Indians could also defeat Central Bucks South (2-2) in the conference finale next week.
North Penn (3-1) would join the Bucks and Big Red at the top of the standings if the Knights defeat CB South (2-2) this week and William Tennent (1-3) next week and – if Souderton defeats CB West this week.
The CB West-Souderton game not only has huge implications on who wins the conference championship – but also has huge implications in the seeding for the PIAA District 1 playoffs. The Bucks are currently ranked # 2 in the district, while the Indians are currently ranked # 7 in the district.

Enthusiasm just creates bubbles, it doesn’t keep them from popping!
– Adora Svitak
There are five Suburban One League teams in 6A that are on that PIAA District One Playoff bubble and for Central Bucks South, Pennsbury, Central Bucks East, Truman, and Neshaminy, the enthusiasm to play for the postseason is still alive and well.
Only two (unlikely three) of those five SOL teams, however, will make the playoffs – and as the final weeks fly by - playoff bubble hopes will pop one ear-shattering week at a time.
The playoff selections are based on win points + bonus points. The teams listed above will get 140-win points for each game won + 10 points for each win their opponents had during the regular season.
The total number of points accumulated during the 10-game regular season is then divided by 10 to determine an average ranking and seed. There is an extensive tie-breaking system in place
Got it?
Really?
At this point – there is no point in predicting which team has the best shot at getting to the postseason. The following is the treacherous journey the bubble SOL teams (plus Haverford) must take.
Central Bucks South (5-3) is currently tied for 14th place in the 16-team qualifying field. The Titans, however, will find wins hard to come by in the final two weeks of the season as South will host North Penn (6-2) and play at Souderton (7-1).
Haverford (6-2) is a non-SOL team that figures into fighting for the postseason and is currently tied with CB South in the district rankings. The Fords still have home games against Marple-Newtown (6-2) and Conestoga (3-5) left to play in the regular season – MN is a 5A school.
Pennsbury (5-3) has a difficult road to the postseason. The Falcons – winners of five straight games – are currently ranked 16th in the district. Pennsbury closes out the regular season with games at Abington (7-1) and at rival Neshaminy (4-4).
Central Bucks East (4-4) – which currently ranks 17th and is the first team out of the playoffs - has two games where the Patriots should be favored to win. CB East will host William Tennent (3-5) and will close the season at Pennridge (1-7).
Truman (4-4) - despite losing the last two weeks and currently tied with CB East in 17th place – should also be favored to win its final two games of the season. The Tigers will travel to play Pennridge (1-7) and will close out the year at Bensalem (2-5).
Neshaminy (4-4) – which currently ranks 19th in the district – has a pair of National Conference games left in the regular season. The Skins will play at Council Rock South (1-7) and will host rival Pennsbury (5-3).
Stay tuned!
And the beat goes on…
