Odd Week in the PIAA 6A District One Playoffs…….
It was a great week for the odd numbered seeds in last week’s PIAA 6A District One playoffs as the No. 1 seed, No. 3 seed, No. 5 seed, and the No. 7 seed all came away with victories.

No. 1 seed Garnet Valley (12-0) trailed No. 8 Central Bucks West (9-3) by a 13-7 score early in the game but outscored the Bucks 35-0 the rest of the way to capture a 41-13 quarterfinal win.  The Jaguars will now host No. 5 Quakertown in a semifinal game on Friday night.

No. 3 seed Coatesville (11-1) led No. 6 seed Perkiomen Valley (9-3), 35-9, at the end of the third quarter and had to withstand a frantic Viking comeback to defeat Perk Valley, 35-30.  The Red Raiders will host No. 7 Ridley in a semifinal game on Friday night.

No. 5 seed Quakertown (12-0) broke wide open a 21-21 first half deadlock to “upset” No. 4 Downingtown East (9-3), 42-21.  The Panthers will take their unbeaten season on the road as they travel to play unbeaten Garnet Valley - the No. 1 seeded Jaguars - in a semifinal game on Friday night.

No. 7 seed Ridley (11-1) was the longest shot to get to the semifinals, but the Green Raiders reached that destination with a stunning 56-55 overtime victory over No. 2 North Penn (11-1).  Ridley will be on the road as the Green Raiders travel to No. 3 Coatesville to meet those other Raiders, the Red Raiders, in a semifinal game on Friday night.

How about those Colonials ???????
No. 5 seed Plymouth Whitemarsh (10-1) kept that odd numbered seed thing going with a thrilling 42-36 overtime victory over No. 4 seed and SOL rival – Upper Dublin (9-3) – in a PIAA 5A District One quarterfinal game.  The Colonials will march into theirs semifinal contest against No. 1 seed West Chester Rustin (10-1) who defeated No. 9 Kennett (8-4), 41-21.
