UPPER MORELAND 35, CONWELL-EGAN 28
Upper Moreland appeared to be in complete command after opening up a 35-13 lead with seven minutes remaining after a 65-yard Tyler Whitmore touchdown run, but Conwell-Egan battled back to make it a one-touchdown game late in the fourth quarter. An interception by UM’s Nick DeLucas preserved the win.
Whitmore led the Golden Bears with 178 yards and two touchdowns on 21 carries. Quarterback Josh Abrams also had two TD runs.
The Golden Bears improved to 3-0 heading into next week’s American Conference opener at Hatboro-Horsham.

LANSDALE CATHOLIC 28, HATBORO-HORSHAM 13
The Hatters got on the scoreboard first with a one-yard run by quarterback Casey Walsh, but the Crusaders answered with a pair of TD runs to go into halftime with a 14-6 lead. The Hatters made it a 14-13 game in the third quarter when Charlie Obrecht hauled in a Walsh TD pass. It would be their last hurrah.
The Hatters (0-3) will host Upper Moreland in Friday’s American Conference opener.

PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH 35, NORRISTOWN 6
The Colonials opened up a 12-0 lead after one quarter and never looked back. Jake Winterbottom scored his first of two touchdowns in the opening frame, this one on a three-yard touchdown run, and Jimmy Rodgers was on the receiving end of an Anthony Mirabile pass for the other TD.
Winterbottom, Mikean Robinson and James Rodgers all had more than 100 yards on the ground.
Corey Davenport’s one-yard TD run in the second quarter accounted for the Eagles’ only points of the game. The Eagles trailed 12-6 at halftime, but the Colonials closed out the game with a 23-0 tear in the second half.
Norristown (2-1) will host Central Bucks West in its American Conference opener while the Colonials (1-2) will host Upper Merion.
