SOL Girls' Lacrosse Wrap (4-13-12)

COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 9, CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 8
The Golden Hawks won a thriller on Friday when Christine Besselman connected for the game winner with two seconds remaining in regulation to propel Rock South to its first win of the season. It was the second goal of the game for Besselman. Also coming up huge for the Golden Hawks was goalie Claire Quist, who was credited with 10 crucial saves.
Rock South’s Mollie Sheehy, Gabi Rosenfield and Jamie Dammirgian each also contributed a pair of goals. Rosenfeld also had an assist. Leeann Hurley added a goal and an assist while Kiera McGovern, Maddelena and Kelly Schlupp also added one assist each.
For the Patriots, Mary Kate Schwartz scored four goals while Marissa Glatt added the hat trick and one assist.
Madeline Steuber turned away eight shots for the Patriots in a contest that saw the Golden Hawks hold a 24-18 advantage in shots.
The Golden Hawks are 1-5 overall while the Patriots fell to 4-6.

UPPER MORELAND 12, ABINGTON FRIENDS 7
Maddie Mauro scored six goals in a standout effort to lead the Golden Bears to the non-league win. Sami Wojciechowski added two goals and two assists while Veronica Baez added two goals. Ashley Duff contributed one goal and three assists, and Samara Santry scored one goal. Lily Sgro added one assist.
Kaitlin Taylor was credited with eight saves in goal for the Golden Bears, who sprinted to a 9-2 halftime lead and never looked back. The Golden Bears upped their overall record to 3-4.

CHELTENHAM 14, JENKINTOWN 6
Allison Hawks and Sammie McManus had big days for the Lady Panthers in their convincing win over their neighboring rivals. Both players contributed five goals with Hawkins also contributing a pair of assists and McManus adding one assist. Allie Liss scored two goals, and Emily Hawkins and Steena Chantarath both added single goals.
With the win, the Lady Panthers upped their record to 5-2.

PENNSBURY 9, PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH 4
Kelsey Gumbert had a big game for the Falcons, contributing four goals and a pair of assists. Teammate Joy Hopkins connected for the hat trick while Alyssa Matthews and Jackie Sweeney (one goals) both scored single goals for the Falcons. Lori Blazejewski was credited with an assist.
Meg McCullough, Kristen Monte, Sarah Naylor and Kayla Wisniewski each contributed a goal for the Colonials.
Pennsbury’s Liana Eyre was credited with four saves while PW’s goalie turned away 11 shots.
The Falcons are 5-4 overall while the Colonials are 1-7.

WEST CHESTER HENDERSON 11, ABINGTON 8
Meredith Cox scored three goals while Allison Rooney (one assist) and Hanna Sjoholm both added a pair of goals. Emma Gross added a single goal to close out the scoring for the Ghosts. Kata Margolis was credited with eight saves in goal for Abington, which fell to 2-5.
