Anna DiMartile reached a personal milestone, scoring the 100th goal of her outstanding career. The junior’s historic goal was the third of her five in yet another strong outing, and on a night that featured a whole lot of the DiMartile siblings, her sister Bridget DiMartile finished with six goals, one assist and six draw controls.
The Cardinals, who took a 10-6 lead into halftime, outscored the Panther 6-3 in the second half. Thursday’s road game came on the heels of an emotionally charged contest 24 hours earlier against Springfield Twp that saw the Cardinals drop their first game of the season.
“It is always tough to play back-to-back games,” UD coach Dee Cross said. “The girls worked hard and got back in the winning column.”
Also for the Cardinals, Paige Dinkel had three goals and three draw controls, and Shannon Connaughton had two goals and one assist. Ava Shohen played the role of facilitator, assisting on five goals to go along with three draw controls. Lily Buckius had one assist.
Emily Darcy had six saves in a winning effort in goal.
For the Panthers, Sunny Draper had a hat trick, Ciara Mory had two goals while Kiera Shaw, Maddie Taylor, Casey Rosenberger and Casey Landis had one goal each. Zoe Smith had an assist.
Upper Dublin (12-1, 6-1 SOL) will host Lower Moreland on Monday. Quakertown (3-11, 1-8) will host Cheltenham on Monday.

The Spartans took care of business in a hurry in Thursday’s league contest, opening up an early lead and rolling to the shutout win.
Olivia McCormick’s hat trick led a balanced Spartan attack that saw 12 players contribute to the scoring. Amelia Price had a four-point game with a goal and three assists while Natalie Rittler and Julia Guicheteau both had two goals. Jess Shapley had one goal and one assist, and contributing one goal each were Frankie Rizzo, Fiona Rizzo, Emma Yoder, Maddie McDevitt, Shannon Silvius, Adrianna Demers and Tess Talbot.
Springfield Twp (9-3, 7-0 SOL) will host Plymouth Whitemarsh on Monday, and William Tennent (0-8, 0-6) will host New Hope-Solebury on Monday.
