SOL Girls' Lacrosse Wrap (5-1-12)

COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 17, PENNSBURY 7
The Indians clinched at least a share of the National Conference crown, thanks to Tuesday’s convincing win over a Falcon squad that came into the game with just one conference loss. Seniors Molly Doyle (five goals, two assists), Hannah Plappert (five goals, four assists) and Kara Magley (four goals, one assist) all turned in monster performances to lead the Indians. Natalie Maher contributed two goals and one assist to close out the scoring.
For the Falcons, Joy Hopkins had four goals and Kelsey Gumbert, three goals.
Rock North goalie Taylor Beck was credited with eight saves in a contest that saw the Indians hold a 21-15 advantage in shots.
While the Falcons fell to 5-2 in league play (10-5 overall), the Indians improved to 6-0 in the league (12-2 overall).

COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 18, CONWELL EGAN 6
The Golden Hawks sprinted to a 15-3 halftime lead on their way to the lopsided win. Christine Besselman led a balanced attack with four goals while Gabi Gosenfeld, Mollie Sheehy, Nikki Boyd and Kelly Schlupp each added two goals. Adding one goal each were Jamie Damirgian, Alex Agasar, Taylor Hunt (one assist), Leann Hurley, Meg Sheehy and Maddalena Buonomo.
Claire Quist was credited with six saves in goal for the Golden Hawks, who held a 22-12 advantage in shots.
Rock South upped its record to 5-8 on the season.

ABINGTON 16, NESHAMINY 3
Meredith Cox (four goals, one assist, four draw controls) and Elisa MacColl (three goals, three caused turnovers) led the Ghosts in Tuesday’s big win. Hannah Sjoholm and Jeannie Van Buren both added two goals. Sjoholm also had one assist and four draw controls while Van Buren had an assist. Kelsey Fitzgerald had one goal and four assists, and Katarina Thallner had one goal and four draw controls. Emma Gross, Allison Rooney, Anna Kumor and Maddy Cline each added single goals to close out the scoring. Kate Margolis was credited with six saves in goal for the Ghosts, who improved to 4-2 in league play (5-10 overall). The Redskins are 0-7 in the league (0-9 overall).

UPPER DUBLIN 15, UPPER MERION 2
The Flying Cardinals continued to roll through conference play, opening up a 12-1 halftime lead en route to another big win.  Kelly Cross scored four goals and also handed out five assists to lead the Flying Cardinals. Brooke Callahan added three goals and one assist while Taylor D’Ginto (one assist), Michele DeVincent and Julie Cross each added two goals. Rachel DiFrangia and Sam Boyd both had one goal to close out the scoring.
Dominique Gambone and Mel Ryan each scored a goal for the Vikings.
Upper Dublin’s Sarah Gallagher was credited with two saves in goal while Upper Merion’s Ally Frymoyer had five saves.
The Flying Cardinals remained perfect in league play (9-0) while improving to 12-1 overall. The Vikings are 4-5 in league play (7-6 overall).
