Abington 13, Council Rock South 6
The Ghosts made it a four-peat with their win over the Golden Hawks, a win that clinched a share of the National Conference title.
“After the game, Liz Wilson said, ‘Coach, I remember at the beginning of the season when you gave us forms to fill out asking what our individual goals were and what our team goals were. Really, my team goal was to repeat as Suburban One champion,’” coach Julie Martinez said. “We did that. We took care of that today.”
Senior Courtney Cox led the Ghosts with six goals and one assist while Molly Seefried (three goals, two assists) and Carli Fitzgerald (three goals, five draw controls, two caused turnovers) also came up big. Hanna Sjoholm contributed one goal while Liz Wilson had four draw controls and five ground balls to lead the defense for the Ghosts, who improved to 12-5.
Council Rock North 20, Central Bucks East 7
The Indians took the suspense out of Thursday’s game very early, racing to a 16-5 halftime lead on their way to the big win that clinched a share of the National Conference crown.
The key to the win?
“I think it was a combination of there was no way that they were not going to win the league, and they came out with the attitude – we are not going to be stopped, which is nice to see,” coach Pat Toner said. “We have a lot of respect for East. They have some very good scorers.
“At the end of the last game, they were able to score three quick goals on us, so we knew the game could change any minute. We wanted to beat them in transition before they were able to set up their defense, and we were able to do that.”
Hannah Plappert contributed two goals and eight assists while Lindsay Rheiner had three goals and one assist. Kara Magley had a team-high five goals, and Molly Doyle had four goals and one assist. Elly Plappert had three goals and two assists, and Becky Ely added a pair of goals. Shannon Scaffa had one goal, and Kara Le contributed an assist.
For East, Meredith Lavin had the hat trick while Carly Pitzer had two goals. Jamie Burns and Sam Axenroth both had one goal while Dana Thomas, Carolyn Remmey and Tessa Roedel each had one assist.
 
North Penn 13, Central Bucks South 6
 
Abbie Hartman contributed the hat trick while Dani Horn, Halie Lear, Stacey Pellechia and Rachel Shaw each added a pair of goals. Macie Hauck and Garrie Grenfell both scored a single goal to close out the scoring. Hartman had a pair of assists while Horn, Lear and Hauck each had an assist.
 
Kaitlin Colbridge led the defense with four ground balls, and Brittany Hanrahan had four draw controls.
 
Maiden goalie Sarah Prall had seven saves. The Maidens held a 35-13 advantage in shots.
 
Souderton 16, Pennridge 12
 
Danielle Notvest and Lindsay Walbrandt both scored four goals with Notvest contributing a pair of assists and Walbrandt adding an assist to lead the Indians. Kirstin Russell and Carly Kendall (one assist) both had three goals while Jenna Hayes had two goals and one assist. Gabby McAndrews and Lindsay Jablonski each had an assist for the Indians, who evened their league mark at 5-5 (11-6 overall).
 
Upper Dublin 17, Upper Merion 6
 
Amy Cross had a monster game for the Flying Cardinals, exploding for seven goals and five assists. Siobhan Brady and Emily Hitchings each connected for the hat trick. Kelly Cross had two goals and five assists while Brooke Callahan and Jordan O’Reilly both had one goal.
 
For Upper Merion, Kellie Manoppello had three goals, and Michelle Bowes, Amanda McAteer and Casey Griffith each added a goal.
 
Upper Dublin goalie Anna Lauer had three saves.
 
Wissahickon 18, Upper Moreland 7
 
Aubrey Bossert scored six goals and contributed three assists to lead the Trojans' attack. Emily Croke sparked the defense with six ground balls and two interceptions.
 
Samantha Stutman (three assists), Ashley Bossert (two assists), Alana Stutman, Laura Frankenfield (one assist) and Maddie Sharp each added a pair of goals. Hillary Hunter and Emma Decker both had one goal. Hunter also had four draw controls.
 
For the Golden Bears, Kelly Garis (one assist), Carly Grivjack and Lily Smith each scored two goals. Shawna Dunleavy had one goal.
 
Wissahickon's Jess Scannapieco and Erin O'Brien Melissen combined for three saves in goal.
 
 
Springfield 14, Plymouth Whitemarsh 2
 
Anna Studenmund, Morgan Smith and Sarah Studdiford each contributed for the hat trick to lead the Spartans to the big win.
 
Kathryn Walker and Meg McCullough each scored to account for PW’s goals.
 
Pennsbury 16, Neshaminy 0
 
The Falcons closed out their regular season with a huge win over their neighboring rival. Jenna Allen led the Falcons with nine goals while Jennalise Taylor had four. Tori Smith and Kelsy Gumbert both had a pair of goals while Liz Cowley, Marcie Paglione and Katie Kern each scored single goals.
