Central Bucks West, the lone SOL girls’ lax team in action, picked up a non-league win on Friday.

The visiting Bucks opened up a 6-2 halftime lead and then held off the surging Black Panthers in the second half to earn the non-league win Friday.
Junior goalie Lauren Devlin played a key role in limiting the Black Panthers to just two first-half goals, turning away seven of nine shots she faced in the half. She finished the game with 10 saves.
“Lauren Devlin had a great first half,” coach Tara Schmucker said. “Rachel Shaw had a crucial caused turnover at the end (of the game), and she had four ground balls coming out of the defensive end.
“Eva Altadonna also stepped up for us today on defense. In general, our attack has recently looked very sharp most of the game, and all seven of them are contributing and moving the ball well.”
Dani Dundas, Finley Ueland and Casey Reichwein scored two goals each to lead a balanced attack. Dundas added a pair of assists. Adding one goal each were Bryn Boylan, Maddie Maio and Olivia Fitzgerald. Boylan had a pair of assists while Maio added one helper. Meghan Darcy also had an assist.
“We had some draw control issues today, but defense held them out and the attack capitalized, especially in the first half,” Schmucker said. “They came back, and we made some poor decisions when we should have been calm and collected.
“But we held on. We have not had a tight game in a while, so it was nice to see them come out with the victory.”
Central Bucks West (12-4, 8-1 SOL) will host Plymouth Whitemarsh in a non-league contest Monday.
