Neshaminy and Central Bucks East will be in action when the PIAA Class AAA State Tournament begins on Tuesday.

How they got here: After a first round bye in districts, the top-seeded Redskins crushed 17th-seeded West Chester East 9-1 in a second round game. They followed that with a 2-1 come-from-behind win over eighth-seeded Spring-Ford in a quarterfinal game. In the district semifinal contest, the Redskins earned a 1-0 win over fourth-seeded Boyertown. Freshman Maggie Daeche scored the game’s only goal, using an assist from Gabby Farrell. The Redskins defeated second-seeded Downingtown East in a classic district title game, using goals by Jess Kelly (Megan Schafer assist) and Kate Suchodolski (Amy Heller assist).
Red Land
- 14-6-2 overall
- Led by Marisa Yeger with 10 goals and four assists (24 points). Samantha Jackson added five goals and six assists (16 points) while Erin Keller had six goals and three assists (15 points). Samantha Kunkel contributed four goals and five assists (13 points) while Jess Thomas had six goals (12 points).
How they got here: Red Land was the 15th seed entering the District Three AAA Tournament. The Patriots upended 18th-seeded Red Lion 3-0 in an opening round game and then began their string of upsets, stunning second-seeded Conestoga Valley 4-1 in a second round game. They followed that with a 1-0 upset of 10th-seeded Manheim Township before falling to sixth-seeded Wilson 4-2 in PKs (1-1). There was no third place game.

Central Bucks East
- 18-3-3 overall
- 10-1-3, second place Continental Conference
- Only regular season loss came at hands of Pennridge
- Allowed just five goals in league play and posted eight shutouts (13 total for 2013)
- Eliminated in first round of PIAA State Playoffs in 2012
How they got here: The Patriots entered district play as the sixth-seeded team. They rolled to a 5-0 opening round win over 27th-seeded Interboro and then cruised to a 4-0 second round win over 11th-seeded Conestoga. In quarterfinal action, the Patriots battled third-seeded Strath Haven to a 0-0 tie after double overtime before winning 4-2 in penalty kicks. In a district semifinal game, the Patriots fell to Downingtown East 3-0 and then lost to Boyertown 1-0 in Saturday’s third place game.
Archbishop Ryan
- 21-1 overall
- 2013 PCL champions
- Only loss of season came on Sept. 6 when the Ragdolls lost to Archbishop Wood 1-0.
- Boast 13 shutouts this season and take a 20-game winning streak into the state tournament.
How they got here: Ryan, sparked by senior Briana Egenlauf’s hat trick, defeated Lansdale Catholic 4-0 in a PCL semifinal game. Egenlauf is one of just four seniors on the roster. In the PCL title game, the Ragdolls defeated Archbishop Wood 1-0 in double overtime. Sophomore Taylor Woods scored the game winner 54 seconds into the second overtime. It was Ryan’s first win over Wood since 2008 in the Catholic League final. In the District 12 title game, Ryan defeated Public League champion Franklin Towne Charter 7-1.
