Council Rock South 2, Pennsbury 0
Colleen Diviny and Paula Jurewicz scored for the Golden Hawks, while keepers Samantha Lawson and Lola Buonomo combined for the shutout.
The Falcons were still missing star Molly Phillips, which may have contributed to a lack of scoring punch against the vaunted South defense.
“They were very athletic,” said Rock coach John Oberholtzer. “They were knocking some balls through, but it was basically a battle between the 18s.”
Council Rock North 3, Bensalem 0
The Indians rebounded from a loss to archrival C.R. South the day before.
Nicole Moonan gave Rock a 1-0 lead at the intermission and Kaitlin McNamara and Caitlin Hannagan added insurance goals in the second half.
“We had trouble scoring in the first half,” said coach Roman Escobar.
Neshaminy 9, Harry S Truman 1
All Neshaminy needed were Hannah Sufrin and Kimber Kisselback’s goals to down the Tigers. Kisselback also scored the third goal and assisted on Jamie Mason and Jen Slivka’s goals.
The score at the half was 8-0.
McKenna Mullin made it 9-0 in the second half before Truman’s Kait Timmons scored in the 74th minute to avert the shutout.
The Redskins received assists from Slivka, Megan Schafer, Alyssa Kirk (2), Erin Farrell and goalie Katina Joyce.
Council Rock South 1, Council Rock North 0 (OT) (Monday)
With just over two minutes remaining in the first overtime, Mikala Mikula (OT) hit the net to propel the Golden Hawks past their archrival in a battle of two undefeated teams Monday.
“They came out after us,” said South coach John Oberholtzer. “They were together. It was scary at times.”
Chrissy Vollrath assisted on Mikula’s golden goal. Keepers Samantha Lawson and Lola Bunomo worked together for the win.
“It was a tough one,” said North coach Roman Escobar. “The girls worked hard. They created a lot more chances than in the past. It showed the girls they could hang in with any team.”

Central Bucks South 4, Hatboro-Horsham 2
The Titans found themselves trailing Hatboro, 2-0, at the half on goals by Carly Black and Tory Adlam.
“I was thinking I might get in some girls that weren’t playing much,” said South coach Joe Bocklet. “We haven’t been in that position in four or five years.”
The girls made Bocklet feel a bit easier in the second half when they scored three goals in six minutes.
“It was a whirlwind,” said Bocklet.
Shannon Senour hit the net in the 45th minute, Molly Grove (Senour assist) followed three minutes later, and Jackie Nelms scored off a rebound in the 51st minute.
Gabby Gibson put the icing on the cake in the 69th minute.
Bocklet said it was an entertaining game because both teams kept trying to score rather than dropping into a defensive shell or playing kick ball.
Hatter keeper Meghan Kaminsky made three saves.
South is now 6-0-3 overall and 4-0-2 in the Continental.
North Penn 3, Souderton 1
North Penn and Souderton battled to a 1-1 deadlock at the end of the first half.
The Maidens’ Gina Scotto buried the game winner and Lauren Williams added an insurance goal in the second half.
North Penn’s Megan Gerhart stopped two shots, while the Souderton duo of Sierra Scott and Olivia McEwen combined for five saves for the Indians.
The Maidens are now 4-2-3 overall and 3-1-2 in the conference.
“After correcting some mistakes, North Penn was able to continue to put pressure on Souderton and to finish with two additional goals in the second half for the win,” said coach Jim Dehner.
Quakertown 2, Central Bucks East 1
This was a game of two halves. Quakertown controlled the first half, while East took over in the second. The overtime was even up.
Quakertown’s Shelly Cowan scored in the 95th minute to give the Panthers their second league win. The Panthers’ Erin Mikolai gave Quakertown the lead in the first half. Goalie Sarah Fothergill stopped eight shots.
East had a goal disallowed on a controversy about whether the ball went into the net or hit the side of it.
Quakertown is now 2-4 in the conference and 3-7 overall.
“We’re getting there,” said coach Mike Koch. “We’re young but learning to do what we need to do as individuals for the team to succeed. We’re hoping for more wins the second time around.”
American Conference
Upper Dublin 3, Wissahickon 0
In a battle for conference supremacy, the Flying Cardinals made a bold statement. Both teams were undefeated coming into the contest, with the Trojans’ only blot a tie.
“We were looking at this one,” said UD coach John Topper. “This was the last team in the league we hadn’t played, and I knew they were having success.”
The Cardinals did a good job of controlling play early, which resulted in an Emily Marvill goal. The Cards also were the beneficiaries of an own goal for a 2-0 lead at the half.
Courtney Boudwin notched the final goal in the second half.
Topper credited keeper Alli Dayno with superb play.
“She did a good job cutting down angles and didn’t give up any second chances,” he said.
The Cardinals move to 6-3-0 overall and 6-0 in the league.
Cheltenham 3, Upper Moreland 0
Panther coach Mark Woodcock called it a “bruising encounter.”
For 65 minutes, neither team could find the net. But in the last 15 minutes, the Panthers notched all three goals.
Rhoda Moise scored the game winner, while Alix Macklin and Kayla Coley made it look easy with two more tallies.
“I was happy with that win,” said Woodcock. “Upper Moreland was very competitive. In the first half they were the more likely to score. We’ve been struggling with inconsistency.”
Cheltenham is now 3-4-1 overall and 2-2 in the conference.
Plymouth Whitemarsh-Upper Merion, postponed until Thursday.
