This was the first match of the season for Upper Moreland. The girls played well in spite of the first-game-of-the-season jitters. Winners were Sophomore Alexis Podolyn (UM) (1st singles) def. Kate Hendrichs 6-3, 6-0. These two players were moving one another well and exchanged some winners back and forth. Junior Helen Candland (UM) (3rd singles) def. Natalie Manser in a tight 2 set match 7-6, 7-5. Senior Colleen Chambers/Freshman Jane Candland (UM) (1st doubles) def. Emily Wilkinson/Abby Prosser 6-4, 6-4.
