#4 PENNSBURY 3, #20 RIDLEY 0 (25-13, 25-20, 25-11)

The Falcons rolled to a sweep of the visiting Green Raiders.

Elley Torres led the Falcons with 16 kills, three aces and eight digs. Izzy Marinelli added 12 kills (.474 hitting percentage), two aces, two digs, one solo block and two block assists. Setters Carissa Van Veen (18 assists, three digs) and Maggie Golder (15 assists, one kill, two digs) split setting duties.

Ashley Parry added five kills (.667) and one dig. Ava Sciolla had three kills (1.000), four block assists and one dig. Bria Mullaghy (eight digs, two aces), Abbie Drewes (seven digs, two aces) and Brooke Burns (six digs, four block assists, two aces) also contributed to the defense. Kat Croteau had a pair of block assists, one dig and two aces.

“The girls played really well,” coach Michael Falter said. “We've played some great volleyball in our last two matches against (Council Rock) North and Ridley. Hopefully, we can keep the level of team effort going on Saturday.”

Pennsbury will host Boyertown in a quarterfinal match at noon.

 

#7 COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 3, #10 GARNET VALLEY 0

The Indians showed no signs of rust after a six-day layoff, earning a sweep of the visiting Jaguars.

Mary Baniewicz was dominant at the net with 19 kills, two blocks and one ace. Cora Lake added six kills. The Adams sisters turned in stellar defensive effort with Ashleigh Adams contributing five kills, 14 digs, three blocks and three aces. Mikayla Adams had 13 digs and one ace.

Sydney White and Kylie Tinner ran the offense with White on fire with 21 assists and Tinner with 12. Middle hitters Julia Walton and Abby Jones contributed a combined four kills and five blocks. Sabrina Pasemann added three blocks and one kill. 

Council Rock North will travel to second-seeded Unionville on Saturday.

"Council Rock North volleyball is looking forward to playing Unionville who we know is a tough team," coach Mike Adams said. "They are tall and very talented. Our girls love the challenge, and this is what playoffs are all about."
