COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 3, HATBORO-HORSHAM 2
The visiting Indians moved one step closer to earning a state berth with their huge win over the Hatters in a playback match Tuesday.
Mary Baniewicz turned in her most dominant performance of the season, finishing with 26 kills, 16 digs and one block.
"She mentally just stepped it up and had two good rotations where she was hitting over one of their smaller blockers while two of our best servers were serving and keeping the other team out of system so we got a lot of free balls to run our offense easier," coach Mike Adams said. "They were a tough team and fought right to the end. It was a fun match."
Ashleigh Adams added 13 kills and a team-high 23 digs. Cora Lake contributed four kills, three blocks and three digs, and Julia Walton had four kills, three aces, three blocks and three digs. Abby Jones chipped in with two kills, two blocks and two digs, and Sabrina Pasemann had two kills and one block. Setters Kylie Tinner and Sydney White combined for 38 assists.
Council Rock North will be on the road at fifth-seeded Boyertown for Thursday’s fifth place match at 7 p.m. The winner will earn the district's final state berth.
