#1 BISHOP SHANAHAN 3, #2 PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH 0 (26-24, 25-21, 25-10)
The Eagles had not lost a set in the postseason entering Saturday’s district final at Upper Dublin, and while the Colonials weren’t able to change that trend, they did give the Eagles all they could handle before falling in the first set (26-24). They didn’t go down without a battle in the second set, but in the end, the Eagles had just too many weapons. Still, earning silver wasn’t a bad finish for a Colonial squad that suffered its first loss.
Danielle Rippert led the Colonials at the net with 10 kills while Lily Acquaviva had nine. Corrine Kalala had three blocks. Senior libero Olivia Carbo had a busy day, finishing with 20 digs and nine assists. Rippert added 17 digs while Samantha Ward and Bridget McTamney each had 12.
Plymouth Whitemarsh (25-1, 18-0 SOL) will take on District 3 runner-up Hempfield in Tuesday’s opening round of the PIAA 4A Tournament at Upper Dublin High School at 5:30 p.m.

#6 COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 3, #4 DOWNINGTOWN WEST 0 (25-12, 25-23, 25-18)
The Indians rebounded from Thursday’s district semifinal loss to Plymouth Whitemarsh by sweeping the fourth-seeded Whippets in Saturday’s third place game.
Morgan Collito led the Indians at the net with 10 kills and three blocks to go along with four aces and six digs. Mackenzie Tinner added five kills, three blocks and two digs, and Dana Bandurick had four kills and one block. Senior Haley Grundman contributed three kills, four blocks and one dig, and Birdie Ligos had two kills, eight digs, one ace and one block.
Junior libero Maddy Moore led the defense with 17 digs as well as one ace. Setters Sarah Caola (11 assists, one ace, four digs) and Johanna Batterton (seven assists, three aces, two digs) orchestrate the Indians’ attack, combining for 18 assists.
