SOL National Conference
PENNSBURY 3, COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 1 (21-25, 25-23, 25-22, 25-22)
Elley Torres and Izzy Marinelli were double trouble at the net, combining for 42 kills. Torres led the way with 24 kills, 13 digs, one solo block, four block assists and one ace. Marinelli added 18 kills (.343 hitting percentage), three digs and two block assists. Carissa Van Veen (21 assists, two aces, one kill, 10 digs) and Maggie Golder (18 assists, five digs) split setting duties. Abbie Drewes led the defense with 22 digs. She also led a strong service game with five aces. Bria Mullaghy added 16 digs and two aces. Brooke Burns had six kills, one ace and eight digs. Jada Rice had three kills, one solo block, two blocks assists and one kill.
For the Golden Hawks, Olivia Buonomo led a balanced effort at the net with six kills. Ava Paulson (10 assists, two kills, four digs) and Alissa Helverson (three kills, 10 assists) shared setting duties. Ariana Ranieri contributed five kills, two blocks and six digs, and Lauren Dougherty added four kills and three blocks. Katie Rodman led the defense with nine digs to go along with two aces. Kyleigh Bowman added two aces and four digs, and Katie Marsh had three blocks and three kills. Kat Croteau had three digs and three block assists.
WILLIAM TENNENT 3, BENSALEM 0
The Panthers earned a sweep, but coach Brian Bassler credited the Owls for their showing.
“Bensalem is a much improved program, and their girls are doing a lot of good things on the court,” the Panthers’ coach said. “Our girls kept fighting together, and it was an all-around good effort by our team that got better as the day went along.”
Sara Ingham had six kills and seven aces to lead the Panthers. Christina Sienkiewicz had seven digs while Chiara Ciccone had six digs and four aces.
For the Owls, Crystal Dang had 14 assists and set up Sydney Bawuah (six kills), Maddie Buechner (four kills), Zariah Prescott (three kills) and Dejah Howe (two kills).
CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 3, HARRY S TRUMAN 0 (25-8, 25-7, 25-11)
The Patriots celebrated Senior Night with a sweep of the visiting Tigers.
“Tonight was such a special night,” East coach Kerri Rabberman said. “It was our senior night and we got to celebrate six amazing ladies.
“They have been such a special part of this program and my life, I am so proud and privileged to be able to have coached them. All of them had contributions tonight and I loved seeing them all on the court together.”
Abby Killough led a strong service game with eight aces to go along with seven kills and eight digs. Setter Anna Ritter had seven aces, one kill, three digs and 27 assists. Maddy Lacouture had three aces, seven kills and five blocks, and Vivien Agassi had seven kills and three digs. Morgan D’Angelo had four aces, three kills, one block and eight digs. Camille Larson had one ace, three kills, one block and one dig.
COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 3, CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 1 (17-25, 25-21, 25-17, 25-23)
The visiting Indians notched a big win over the Bucks in an atmosphere described by Rock North coach Mike Adams as a ‘loud, fun environment.’ With the win, the Indians improved to 18-2 on the season with two matches remaining.
Ashleigh Adams had 13 kills, 23 digs, two blocks and one ace in a standout effort. Mary Baniewicz had 12 kills, nine digs and two aces. Mikayla Adams had 18 digs and four aces. Julia Walton had six kills and four aces, and Abby Jones contributed three kills and two blocks. Sabrina Pasemann and Cora Lake added two kills and one block. Sydney White had 19 assists and five digs, and Kylie Tinner had 13 assists, three aces and four digs.
For the Bucks, Jada Reichwein and Naomi Woo led the way at the net with 10 kills each. Reichwein added three aces and seven digs, and Woo had one ace and 10 blocks. Ana Claricurzio had 27 assists, one kill, 11 digs and one block. Maggie McCusker had three kills, two aces, six blocks and eight digs while Sarah Tartaglia had six kills, one block and four digs. Maggie Winderman had 10 digs, Jordyn Klementovich added nine digs and two aces, and Emily Holyk had four kills, one block and two digs.
CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 3, NESHAMINY 0 (25-17, 25-20, 25-23)
The visiting Titans notched a sweep over the Redskins.
Sophomore Millie Grove had 13 kills and three digs, and junior Courtney Pohl had 10 kills and three digs. Senior setter Lizzie Shirley had 31 assists, two aces, two kills and two digs. Senior middle Allie Burke added five kills, four aces, two blocks and three digs, and senior middle Carly Carroll had four kills and three blocks. Senior libero McKenna Clow had two assists and six digs. Junior Olivia Justus had one kill.
SOL American Conference
SOUDERTON 3, PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH 1 (15-25, 25-18, 25-21, 25-17)
The visiting Indians notched an impressive win over the Colonials, avenging a 3-1 loss to the Colonials in the initial meeting of the two teams.
Setter Maya Hanson had 47 assists, one ace, one kill and 13 digs. On the receiving end of many of those assists was Alyssa Reiner, who had 24 kills in a stellar outing. She also had four aces, seven digs and one block. Amelia Hanson added seven kills and eight digs, and Liv Horas also had seven kills to go along with two aces and three digs. Hana Ekecs led the defense with 33 digs and one ace. Also contributing were Olivia Anello (two kills, two digs, one block), Natalie Truskowski (six kills) and Grace Petersen (eight digs).
ABINGTON 3, UPPER DUBLIN 2 (25-15, 27-25, 19-25, 12-25, 15-9)
The Ghosts have saved their best for last, winning for the fourth time in five matches. Monday’s win avenged a 3-0 sweep at the hands of the Colonials in the early season meeting.
Setter Izzy Reilly had 26 assists. Kenya Lucas led the Ghosts at the net with 15 kills, and Sarah Boykin had eight blocks.
