SOL National Conference

COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 3, WILLIAM TENNENT 0
The visiting Indians earned a sweep of the Panthers in Thursday’s regular season finale.
“For the first time in three years, the match did not go a long five sets, but that did not mean there weren't ups and downs,” Rock North coach Joe Schweitzer said. “In the first set, CRN held a six-point lead only to watch Tennent come back with some strong serving to take a late lead.  The typical back and forth occurred with CRN winning late point to seal the set.
“In the third set, Tennent once again showed some strong serving and took a 14-7 lead.  After a timeout, CRN came back with some strong serving from Olivia  Szymkiewicz, Rylee  Desruiseau and Macallan Vogel, with timely kills from Olivia (6) and Sloane (4) to seal the set.”
The Indians were led by Olivia Szymkiewicz with 12 kills and 5 aces, Sloane Jordan with 10 kills and Addison Zarillo with 4 kills and 5 aces.
“On a sad note, Coach Brian from Tennent announced he was stepping down as the head coach,” Schweitzer said of long-time coach Brian Bassler. “I will personally miss coaching against him and I am sure his players will miss him.  SOL will also miss him.”
Council Rock North – the 15th seed - will return to action Tuesday in the District 1 4A Tournament. William Tennent closed out its season with a 9-11 overall record.
