SOL National Conference
PENNSBURY 3, CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 0 (25-19, 25-15, 25-7)
The Falcons remained perfect in conference play with a sweep of the Patriots.
Elley Torres was dominant at the net, leading the Falcons with 23 kills and a dazzling .514 hitting percentage. She also had three aces, nine digs and one block. Izzy Marinelli added eight kills (.350) and two digs. Kat Croteau chipped in with four kills (.800), one ace, three digs and one block. Setter Carissa Van Veen had 23 assists and one service ace. Abbie Drewes led the defense with 14 digs. Bria Mullaghy added five digs and three aces while Brooke Burns had three kills, two aces and one dig. Ashley Parry had one kill and two digs.
CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 3, COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 1
Junior outside Courtney Pohl’s 14 kills led a balanced Titans’ attack in their four-set win over the Golden Hawks. Sophomore outside Millie Grove added 10 kills and six digs while senior middle Allie Burke had seven kills, two aces and two blocks. Senior setter Lizzie Shirley had 40 assists, four aces, two kills and four digs, and senior libero McKenna Clow had 10 digs and one ace. Also contributing were senior middle Carly Carroll (four kills, two blocks) and sophomore defensive specialist Rian Grant (one ace, one dig).
For the Golden Hawks, Ariana Ranieri had nine kills and five digs while Lauren Dougherty had four kills and three blocks. Katie Rodman, Kyleigh Bowman and Emma Helverson also gave strong defensive performances with a combined total of 34 digs.
COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 3, WILLIAM TENNENT 0
The Indians earned a sweep of the visiting Panthers.
Contributing to a balanced attack were Ashleigh Adams (10 kills, three aces, 11 digs), Cora Lake (seven kills, one block), Mary Baniewicz (six kills) and Julia Walton (four kills, one ace). Mikayala Adams (seven assists, seven digs and two aces) and Kylie Tinner (10 assists, 13 digs) split setting duties. Julia Nenner led the defense with 15 digs.
Rock North will hold its Dig Deep Match to fight against cancer on Friday at 7 p.m. The event will include raffle baskets with donated prizes, including four Penn State football tickets, Saint Joseph’s courtside basketball tickets, restaurant gift cards and so much more.
CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 3, HARRY S TRUMAN 0 (25-12, 25-14, 25-14)
Setter Ana Claricurzio dished out 19 assists to lead the Bucks to a sweep of the Tigers. She also had five aces, two kills and three digs. Naomi Woo’s seven kills led the attack. She also had three aces and one block. Maggi McCusker had six kills, one ace and five digs. Ashley Pellegrini led the Bucks at the service line with four aces.
SOL American Conference
HATBORO-HORSHAM 3, PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH 0 (25-20, 25-21, 25-22)
The Hatters stayed within a game of the conference’s top spot with a sweep of the Colonials in a battle of last year’s co-champions.
Leading the Hatters’ offense was senior outside hitter Cam Wild with 19 kills followed by senior middle hitter Rickelle Wescott, senior outside hitter MaryKate Scully and senior opposite Jule Gibbons with eight, seven and six kills respectively. Cam Wild, Chris Nobile and Sarah Lessig all added three aces on the service line with Jule Gibbons and Jess Howard adding one each as well. Junior Jess Howard anchored the defense with 15 digs while MaryKate Scully added nine. The offense was run by junior Maddy Murphy with 37 assists and three kills.
SOUDERTON 3, CHELTENHAM 0 (25-14, 25-14, 25-7)
The Indians received contributions up and down their lineup in their sweep of the Panthers.
Setter Maya Hanson had 25 assists, two aces and four digs. Amelia Hanson (seven kills, four digs) and Alyssa Reiner (seven kills, one dig, one block) led a balanced attack. Liv Horas added four kills and one dig while Becca Arobone added three kills and one dig and Natalie Truskowski had three kills and two blocks. Christy Mack led the defense with 12 digs and one kill. Grace Peterson led the Indians’ service game with three aces and four digs.
ABINGTON 3, QUAKERTOWN 0
Kenya Lucas delivered 11 kills to lead the Ghosts attack in their sweep of the Panthers. Setter Izzy Reilly had 26 assists and also led the Ghosts’ service game with seven aces. Sarah Tuffy added five digs and six aces.
