Non-league

WILLIAM TENNENT 3, CONWELL-EGAN 0 (25-15, 25-15, 25-13)

The Panthers celebrated Senior Night with a sweep of the visiting Eagles. The win was the 14th for the Panthers and the 200th all-time for coach Brian Bassler, but the story on the court and then off the court were the four Panther seniors.

“They played amazing tonight,” Bassler said.

Outside hitter Meredith Johnston had 11 kills and seven digs. Libero/defensive specialist Maggie McGlynn had five digs and one ace. Right side hitter Mayley Morena contributed two digs, one ace, one kill, and setter Julia Richard had 10 assists, five aces and three digs.

“Bigger than that to the coaches were the speeches the underclassmen gave after the match about what these seniors have meant to the program and to each of them personally,” Bassler said. “The seniors made an impact on all of our lives but especially their teammates with the connections they made and people they are.”

William Tennent will face Council Rock North tomorrow night and then hope to hear about playoffs on Saturday

“That was our #1 team goal,” Bassler said.
