NEW HOPE-SOLEBURY 3, CONWELL-EGAN 2
The Lady Lions trailed a strong Conwell Egan the entire evening, dropping sets one and three, then finding themselves behind in the fifth set as late as 10-7. Strong Lady Lion leadership brought them back to take sets two and four, as well as leading an 8-2 run to close out the final set.
New Hope-Solebury (3-0, 1-0 SOL) will travel to Hatboro-Horsham on Tuesday.
SOUDERTON 3, COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 2
McKenna Murawski and Kay Guessford turned in huge performances at the net, combining for 32 kills lead Souderton to a hard-fought five-set win over Rock North.
Muraawski led the visiting Indians with 18 kills and also had 17 digs and seven aces in a monster performance. Guessford also came up big, contributing 14 kills, one ace, 11 digs and one block.
Setter Margaret Donnelly handed out 23 assists and also had eight digs and two blocks. Lauren Vance also came up huge for the Indians, contributing seven kills, one assist, three aces, 11 digs and one block. Zoe Folk led the Indians defensively with 27 digs and also had four assists and one ace.
Souderton (3-1, 1-0 SOL) will travel to Central Bucks East on Tuesday, and Council Rock North (2-1, 0-0) will host Pennsbury on Tuesday.
