Non-league
WILLIAM TENNENT 3, WISSAHICKON 1 (25-15, 25-23, 23-25, 25-22)

The visiting Panthers won a spirited match with the Trojans.
“It was a tough back-and-forth match,” Tennent coach Brian Bassler said. “I was proud of our girls for battling through some adversity to pick up our third win in a row.”
Leading the Panthers at the net were Kristina Bentsionova (15 kills), Emmerson McElhinney (11 kills) and Lauren Marsland (10 kills). Margaux Kellum led the Panthers’ defense with 30 digs, and setter Izzy Goebel had a big night, contributing 42 assists, 14 digs and four aces. Grace Sabara led Tennent’s service game with seven aces.
The Trojans, after dropping the first set, fought hard in the second set but ended up losing by two.  In the third set, the Lady Trojans battled back from an early deficit to take the set, winning on an ace by junior setter/middle Anyah Carter. In the fourth set, the Trojans again fell behind. With the Trojans’ trailing 24-12, sophomore Lyla Ruegg stepped to the service line and reeled off nine straight points, including two aces, to bring the team to within 24-21. Unfortunately for the Trojans, they couldn't complete the incredible comeback and fell to the Panthers.
“Great performances were put forth by freshwomen Kaitlyn Lang (libero) and Hannah Seder(setter) who are making their impact felt,” Wiss coach Mitch Harris.
William Tennent (5-3, 2-2 SOL) will host Conwell-Egan in a non-league match Saturday (10 am), and Wissahickon (2-4, 2-1) will travel to Abington Thursday.
