SOL National Conference

COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 3, COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 1 (26-24, 19-25, 25-23, 25-18)
The visiting Golden Hawks handed their neighboring rival their first loss of the season in a spirited match.
“This is a big win for our seniors and our program,” South coach John Wright said. “Last year we beat North for the first time in many years, and tonight may have been the first time South won a match in North’s gym. North is very talented and extremely well coached. I am very proud of the effort we gave tonight.”
The Golden Hawks were led by Ava Paulson with two kills, two aces, eight assists and 26 service points. Celina Varian had a big night both offensively and defensively, finishing with 11 kills and 19 digs. Paige O’Connell had two aces, seven kills and 15 assists, and defensively, the Golden Hawks were led by Bria DeSara and Katie Rodman with 31 digs and 16 digs respectively.
For the Indians, Mary Baniewiz had a big night at the net, finishing with 16 kills. She also had six digs. Kylie Tinner added seven kills, 12 digs and one service ace. Cora Lake had five kills while Abby Jones had four kills and two digs. Ashleigh Adams led the defense with 34 digs and a pair of service aces. Jill Schweizer had 11 digs and a team-high seven service aces, and Sydney White had seven digs and one ace.

PENNSBURY 3, CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 1 (22-25, 25-14, 25-17, 25-12)
The Titans eked out a win in the opening set, but the Falcons regrouped and won the next three.
“Pennsbury is a really good team, and you pay for your mistakes,” South coach Kurt Godfrey said. “We got ourselves in some pretty tough situations that we just weren’t able to get ourselves out of tonight.
“Our girls fought all night long and I'm proud of how we fought, but in the end, it just wasn't enough tonight against a tough team. Tomorrow is a practice day for us and we will certainly go back to the drawing board to correct the mistakes we made tonight."
The Falcons’ attack was led by the double-digit kill efforts of Izzy Marinelli (15 kills), Elley Torres (11 kills) and Brooke Burns (10 kills).  Burns also had four service aces while Torres had two. Ashley Parry also had four aces.
For the Titans, junior setter Lizzi Shirley had 26 assists to go with four kills and 10 digs. Junior middle Allie Burke led the attack with 13 kills. Senior defensive specialist Maddie Mauri had a team-high 12 digs, and senior outside hitter Maddy Morrow added five kills and nine digs.

CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 3, WILLIAM TENNENT 1 (25-15, 18-25, 25-15, 25-19)
The Patriots received contributions up and down their lineup in their win over the Panthers. Setter Anna Ritter distributed 34 assists and also had two kills and seven digs. Jenn Krzeminski led the Patriots with 16 kills, one block and five digs. Halle Sharp added three aces, eight kills and four digs. Vivien Agassi had four kills and four digs, and Maddy Lacouture added four kills and one block. Izzy Guzzi had four kills as well. Camille Larson also contributed at the end and on the service line. Morgan D’Angelo led the defense with nine digs while Chloe Mettille had five digs. Abby Killough had six digs and Megan Lunny added four.

CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 3, BENSALEM 0 (25-7, 25-16, 25-5)
The Bucks rolled to a sweep of the Owls. Setter Maggie McCusker had 18 assists, five aces and five digs. Naomi Woo’s seven kills led the attack. She also had one block. Maggie Winderman also had five aces to go along with three digs. Sammy Power and Sarah Tartaglia each had three kills. Jada Reichwein had four aces and two kills. Brie Livezey, Juliana Stumpf and Magda Videva had two kills each.

SOL American Conference

NORTH PENN 3, ABINGTON 2
The Knights defeated the defending conference co-champs in a five-set thriller in front of an enthusiastic crowd.
“Both teams played with heart and energy,” coach Scott Coles said. “Abington is well coached and has a very good team.
“We were able to feed off the energy of an amazing crowd, and our defense stepped up to a big challenge against a very good Abington offense. I am so proud of our team growing this early in the season and finding a way to win.”
Leading the Knights defensively were senior libero Francisca Dolan (20 digs) and senior defensive specialist Diana Pissut, who led the team in passing with an impressive 2.15 average. Offensively, the Knights were led by senior setter Emily Cooper with a .412 hitting percentage. She finished the night with seven kills and 10 assists. Junior outside hitter Natalie Wernly added 10 kills.

PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH 3, PENNRIDGE 0 (25-15, 25-22, 25-13)
The Colonials handled the Rams their first conference loss, earning a sweep. Aja Smith led the way at the net with seven kills to go along with 17 digs and one ace. Setter Sydney Melillo had 14 assists. Contributing five kills each were Megan Peuser and Gillian Conner. Sophia Repholz led the defense with 19 digs and one ace.

QUAKERTOWN 3, WISSAHICKON 1
The Panthers earned their first conference win with a 3-1 win over the Trojans.
Alex Whalen had a big night at the net, leading the Panthers with 16 kills to go along with five aces and six digs. Jenny Starzecky had five kills, 13 digs, one ace and two blocks. Setter Mackenzie Mahler added five aces, two kills, 22 assists and eight digs. Grace Wilson led the defense with 15 digs and two aces. Abby Sicher chipped in a kill and three blocks.

HATBORO-HORSHAM 3, SOUDERTON 2
The Hatters dropped the first two sets but came back to win the next three in a thriller that featured a strong effort and defense from the Indians.
Junior outside hitter Cam Wild had a huge night for the Hatters, finishing with 24 kills, 22 digs and three aces. Junior opposite/outside hitter Jule Gibbons added 10 kills, seven digs and five aces. Senior middle hitter Daniella Spruill had four kills, and junior outside hitter MaryKate Scully added eight kills to the mix. Directing the offense were junior Grace Wuillermin with 31 assists and senior Rachel Dittus with 15.

UPPER DUBLIN 3, CHELTENHAM 0
The Flying Cardinals earned a sweep of the Panthers.
For the Panthers, Megan Dougherty led the way with six kills, six aces and six digs. Mackenna Doud added three kills, one ace and five digs. Setter Cameron Booth had 10 assists and three digs, and Carrie Rebitz had five digs. Samerrah Waheed added three kills, and Najeh Edens contributed a pair of blocks.
