SOL National Conference

 

PENNSBURY 3, COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 2 (21-25, 21-25, 25-18, 25-18, 15-9)

Monday’s battle between the National Conference’s top squads lived up to its billing. The Indians had the upper hand in the first two sets, the Falcons in the next two, setting the stage for the winner-take-all fifth set won by the Falcons.

Senior outside hitter Elley Torres turned in a monster performance for the Falcons, finishing with 25 kills, 13 digs, one ace and five blocks. Junior Izzy Marinelli added 15 kills and four blocks while senior middle blocker Brooke Burns had eight kills, four blocks, five digs and three aces. Senior Ashley Parry added five kills, and Jada Rice (three kills, three blocks) and Kat Croteau (four kills, two blocks) also contributed at the net.

Defensively, senior Bria Mullaghy led the way with 15 digs to go along with three aces. Carissa Van Veen and Maggie Golder both had nine digs. Van Veen also had five aces.
For the Indians, 
Ashleigh Adams lead team with 14 kills, 32 digs, 2 blocks, 2 aces. Mary Baniewicz 13 kills, 9 digs, 2 aces, 1 block. Kylie Timner 17 assist & 13 digs, 2 aces, 1 block. Sydney White 14 assist, 6 digs, 3 aces.  

 

CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 3, WILLIAM TENNENT 1 (25-17, 21-25, 25-12, 25-16)

The Titans dropped the second set but rallied to win the next two.

"Tonight was a really good match for us,” South coach Kurt Godfrey said. “Brian (Bassler) always puts a good squad together, and they served really tough tonight.  They made us earn all of our points.”

Senior setter Lizzie Shirley had 37 assists, six aces, two kills and six digs. Junior outside Courtney Pohl (14 kills) and sophomore outside Millie Grove (12 kills, two aces) led the Titans’ attack. Senior middle (seven kills, four blocks) and senior middle Carly Carroll (six kills) also played key roles in the attack. Sophomore libero Shannon Rector had four aces and five digs.

"We got a lot of contributions from all of our girls,” Godfrey said. “Lizzie was able to distribute the ball really well and get everyone involved.  Carly Carroll had a great match for us and was really smart at the net tonight.  I am really proud of her.  Millie and Courtney continued to be great for us on the pins and Allie was a really big block for us tonight.”

For the Panthers, Chiara Ciccone had 14 digs and Christina Sienkiewicz had 12 to lead the defense. Sara Ingham had seven kills and three aces, and Riley Morgan had five kills.

 

CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 3, COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 0 (25-21, 25-16, 25-21)

The Patriots bounced back from a pair of losses Saturday to earn a sweep of the Golden Hawks.

“It was a great team win tonight,” coach Kerri Rabberman said. “I was very proud of the girls.”

Setter Anna Ritter had 29 assists, two kills and nine digs. Vivien Agassi had nine kills with no errors. She also had one ace. Caroline Eldringhoff, according to Rabberman, had a phenomenal match, finishing with six kills and four blocks. Kaylynn Bryan had seven kills, 15 digs and two aces, and Morgan D’Angelo added 14 digs and one ace. Maddy Lacouture had six kills, and Anna Huchko had five kills. Also contributing were Abby Killough (three aces, five digs) and Chloe Mettille (six digs).

For the Golden Hawks, outside hitter Arianna Ranieri tallied nine kills, 10 digs and two aces. Middle hitter Lauren Dougherty totaled six kills, and setter Alissa Helverson had 18 assists.

 

CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 3, NESHAMINY 0 (25-13, 25-23, 25-23)

The visiting Bucks earned a sweep of the Redskins.

Magda Videva led a balanced attack with seven kills and four blocks. Jada Reichwein had five kills, four aces, one block and four digs, and Naomi Woo had five kills, two aces, two blocks and three digs. Maggie McCusker contributed five aces, two kills, three assists and four digs. Setter Ana Claricurzio had 19 assists, three kills, two blocks and two digs. Maggie Winderman added two aces and three digs.

 

SOL Continental Conference

 

PENNRIDGE 3, SOUDERTON 1 (25-21, 25-16, 22-25, 25-14)

In a battle of the neighboring rivals, the Rams earned the four-set win.

For the Indians, setter Maya Hanson had 16 assists, two kills and six digs. Hana Ekecs led the defense with 27 digs, two aces, one kill and two assists. Contributing to the attack were Liv Horas (seven kills, four digs), Alyssa Reiner (five kills, one ace, one block, four digs), Amelia Hanson (three kills, four digs).

 

PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH 3, CHELTENHAM 0

 

Non-league - Saturday Sept 21

WEST CHESTER HENDERSON 3, CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 2 (20-25, 25-21, 25-22, 12-25, 16-18)

The Patriots fell to the Warriors in five sets in Saturday’s tri-match.

Setter Anna Ritter had 22 assists, three aces, two kills and nine digs. Vivien Agassi led the attack with 11 kills to go along with three digs, and Kaylynn Bryan had nine kills, 18 digs and one ace. Morgan D’Angelo’s 22 digs led the defense. She also had two aces, two kills and six assists. Also contributing were Abby Killough (one ace, nine digs), Chloe Mettille (two aces, nine digs), Maddy Lacouture (two aces, three kills, three blocks), Camille Larson (one kill, one block) and Caroline Eldringhoff (one kill, two blocks).

 

RIDLEY 3, CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 0 (25-22, 25-12, 25-23)

The Green Raiders earned a sweep in Saturday’s non-league match.

Morgan D’Angelo’s 20 digs led the defense, and Abby Killough added eight digs. Setter Anna Ritter had 18 assists, three aces and six digs. Also contributing were Ava Napoletano (four kills), Camille Larson (three kills), Caroline Eldringhoff (one kill), Chloe Mettille (one ace, four digs), Kaylynn Bryann (one ace, three kills, seven digs), Maddy Lacouture (two kills) and Vivien Agassi (kills, two blocks).
