PENNSBURY 3, WILLIAM TENNENT 1
The Falcons remained perfect in conference play with Friday’s four-set win over the Panthers.
Elley Torres (20 kills) and Izzy Marinelli (16 kills) once again dominated play at the net. Torres also had six aces and 10 digs while Marinelli added a pair of aces. Senior Brooke Burns added seven kills, two aces and two digs. Kat Croteau and Ashley Parry both had four kills. Croteau added five aces and six digs. Setter Carissa Van Veen had 28 assists, three aces and eight digs, and Maggie Golder had 20 assists. Bria Mullaghy led the defense with 12 digs to go along with two aces, and Abbie Drewes had 11 digs and one ace. Jada Rice had three kills, and Salley Kehan chipped in one kill.
For the Panthers, Riley Morgan had eight kills and Grace Marsland had seven. Julia Richard had 11 assists and three aces. Chiara Ciccone contributed 17 digs and Sarah Cummins had 13.
CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 3, CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 0 (25-22, 25-21, 25-21)
The visiting Titans – sparked by the 16-kill effort of junior outside Courtney Pohl - notched a hard earning sweep of their neighboring rival.
"Tonight was a really big win for our program,” coach Kurt Godfrey said. “It is really nice to see Courtney's hard work paying off. She works so hard in the offseason and to be able to play the way she did was absolutely awesome.”
Sophomore outside Millie Grove added 12 kills and four aces. Senior setter Lizzie Shirley had 41 assists and two digs, and senior middle Allie Burke had eight kills and one ace. Sophomore outside Shannon Rector had two aces and six kills.
For the Bucks, Jada Reichwein led the way with nine kills and two blocks, and Naomi Woo added five kills and four blocks. Setter Ana Claricurzio had 21 assists, one ace, two kills and six digs, and Maggie Winderman added 18 digs and two aces. Maggie McCusker had seven digs, three kills and two blocks, and Magda Videva contributed two aces, three kills and two blocks. Jordyn Klementovich added three aces, one kill and five digs.
COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 3, HARRY S TRUMAN 0
The Indians received contributions up and down their lineup in their sweep of the Tigers. Junior Sabrina Pasemann led the team with seven kills and three blocks. Ashleigh Adams, Mary Baniewicz and Abby Jones each contributed six kills and combined for five aces. Cora Lake had five kills. Kate Logan (eight assists), Sydney White (11 assists, two aces) and Kylie Tinner (10 assists) split setting duties. Julia Nenner had 10 digs and three assists. Arusha Singh added four kills and three digs. Julia Walton had three kills and one block, and Ainsley Jordan contributed two kills, two digs and one ace.
CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 3, NESHAMINY 1 (25-13, 23-25, 25-13, 25-17)
The Patriots used a balanced team effort in their four-set win over the Redskins.
Ava Napoletano led the Patriots with 14 kills and one block while Vivien Agassi added nine kills and three aces. Chloe Mettile led a strong service game with six aces and five kills. Morgan D’Angelo’s 20 digs led the defense. She also had three aces. Anna Ritter (18 assists, four aces, nine digs) and Sophia Mettille (11 assists) split the setting duties. Also contributing were Abby Killough (four digs), Anna Huchko (one block), Aimee Wolf (three kills, three blocks), Camille Larson (two kills), Caroline Eldringhoff (two kills, one block), Kaylynn Bryan (one kill, three digs), Maddy Lacourture (one ace, two kills, one block) and Olivia Bennett (one kill)
SOL Continental Conference
UPPER DUBLIN 3, SOUDERTON 2 (25-19, 14-25, 25-18, 10-25, 15-12)
The visiting Cardinals won a tightly contested five-set match over the Indians.
Shannon Yoast led a balanced attack with 10 kills, eight digs and one ace. Charlotte Qi (two aces, 18 digs) and Emily Senior (four digs) both added nine kills. Sophie Sabri added seven kills, one block and three digs. Lauren Price (15 assists, 12 digs) and Sarah Randall (27 assists, two aces, five kills, 16 digs) shared setting duties. Anna Faust led the defense with 25 digs, three aces and two assists, and Maggie Faust had eight digs. Also contributing were Casey Broderick (four kills, five digs) and Sammy Silver (two aces, one dig).
For the Indians, setter Maya Hanson had 27 assists, 12 digs, two kills and one ace. Hana Ekecs led the Indians defensively with 35 digs, three aces, one kill and two assists. Amelia Hanson (two aces, six digs) and Alyssa Reiner (two aces, two digs) both had 10 kills. Liv Horas contributed six kills, three blocks, one ace, one assist and one dig, and Natalie Truskowski had three kills, four blocks and one dig.
PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH 3, ABINGTON 1
Aja Smith had another big match to lead the Colonials, finishing with 24 kills, 19 digs and one ace. Bree Middleton added eight kills. Libero Julia Walker had 27 digs and three aces.
Thursday, Sept. 26
COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 3, BENSALEM 0
Lauren Dougherty led the Golden Hawks’ defense with seven blocks. Katie Marsh and Kyleigh Bowman, according to coach Carrie Allen, had strong nights serving.
For the Owls, Sydney Bawuah’s eight kills led the way.
