ABINGTON 3, PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH 2 (20-25, 25-17, 20-25, 25-22, 15-11)

The Ghosts trailed 2-1 but rallied to win the next two sets to notch the hard-earned win in a classic battle.

“It was a great match between rivals – back and forth all night,” Abington coach Dan Marsh said.

Kenya Lucas had a monster night at the net, slamming home 20 kills. Lila Stonehouse also finished in double digits with 11 kills. Setter Izzy Reilly dished out 36 assists, and Iris Winegard led the Ghosts’ defense with 16 digs.

 

HATBORO-HORSHAM 3, WISSAHICKON 0

Hatboro-Horsham celebrated the team's seven seniors who have contributed over the last four years with a win over Wissahickon despite Wissahickon's much improved serve receive and defense. Hatboro-Horsham takes on New Hope-Solebury on Monday.

CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 3, CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 2 (22-25, 25-19, 28-30, 25-15, 15-12)

The Patriots won a grueling match against their neighboring rival, rebounding from a 28-30 loss in the third set to win the next two.

“What a great match,” East coach Kerri Rabberman said. “CB South is such a talented team, and it was another CB East/CB South match for the books. Each team played their hearts out.

“I am so incredibly proud with how the girls played and responded – dropping the first set, going back and forth in the third set, etc., and they always stayed resilient and kept their heads up. These girls are a team, and this wouldn’t have happened without every single one of them.”

For the Patriots, Ava Napoletano led the offense with 14 kills. Kaylynn Bryan posted a double/double with 13 kills and 13 digs. Aimee Wolf had eight kills and one block while Caroline Eldringhoff also had eight kills and added one block and two digs. Kat Montabana contributed seven kills and one block, and Anna Huchko added four kills and one block. Chloe Mettille had an amazing night and led the defense with 32 digs and had four aces while passes a 2.6. Taryn Zakrzewski added 11 digs and one ace. Sophie Mettille had two aces, 12 digs and 28 assists. Katie Monaghan had three aces, five digs and 19 assists.

 

CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 3, SOUDERTON 0 (25-11, 25-17, 25-19)

The Bucks used a balanced attack to sweep the visiting Indians.

West setter Maggie McCusker handed out 20 assists and also contributed three aces, two kills, one block and six digs. Brie Livezey led the Bucks at the net with seven kills to go with three aces and two digs. Magda Videva and Alexis Barklage both added four kills. Videva also had three aces and one block. Jada Reichwein had three kills and four aces while Jordyn Klementovich had five aces and eight digs.

For the Indians, Alyssa Reiner had five kills and one ace. Nikki Hamilton contributed six assists and four aces while McKenna Murawski led the defense with 10 digs.

“The outcome wasn't what we wanted, but we're excited about the progress we've made,” Souderton coach Cori Watson said. “We aren't expecting change to happen overnight, but this match left us feeling excited about the future of the season. We're back to work tomorrow with a match against North Penn on Thursday.”

 

PENNRIDGE 3, NORTH PENN 0 (25-17, 25-23, 25-18)

The Rams earned a hard-fought sweep of the Knights.

“The Knights pushed the Rams to their limit, but clutch serving and attacking from senior outside hitter Lydia Stutzman pulled the Rams to victory,” coach Brandon Johnson said. “Setters Allison Saalfrank and Alyssa Curry also delivered pivotal moments throughout the match, providing key assists in big moments of the match.”

The Rams look to build on their strong start to the season int heir match against Quakertown on Thursday.

WILLIAM TENNENT 3, NESHAMINY 1 (25-21, 17-25, 29-27, 28-26)

The Panthers defeated the Redskins, winning back-to-back nail-biters after splitting the first two sets.

"It was a hard fought and exciting match," Tennent coach Brian Bassler said. "We are getting contributions from a lot of different players from freshmen to seniors, and it is really nice to see these exciting rallies on the court. 

"Neshaminy has some really good players, so this was good to see our girls respond at the end of sets and pull the match out."

Tennent setter Julia Booz contributed 25 assists and four aces while Sarah Cummins had a huge defensive game, finishing with 30 digs to go along with three aces. Mackenzie Clee had a big all-around game with four aces, 10 kills and 15 digs, and Brianna Zysk led the Panthers with 11 kills.

"We would like to limit our errors but Brianna Zysk and Mackenzie Clee really had big days offensively," Bassler said. "Julia Booz spread the ball around really well and Sarah Cummins anchored the defense again with a match high in digs. Win or lose we just want to keep getting better every match."

 

PENNSBURY 3, BENSALEM 1 (25-16, 21-25, 25-11, 25-19)

Izzy Marinelli turned in another dominant performance at the net, leading the Falcons to the win with 20 kills to go along with seven digs and one ace.

Also for the Falcons, Janae Scott had three kills and two blocks. Setter Carissa Vanveen led a strong serving game for the Falcons with seven aces to go with 21 assists, two kills and four digs. Grace Sobey added eight digs and two aces.
