SOL Girls' Volleyball Wrap (9-5-17)

CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 3, WILLIAM TENNENT 0 (25-14, 25-20, 25-11)
Katie Hudson had a big night at the net, slamming home 15 kills in the Bucks’ sweep of the visiting Panthers. She also had five digs and one ace. Mackenzie Brooks led West’s service game with five aces to go along with five kills and six digs. Amanda Mass had seven kills and one block. Setter Ana Claricurzio had 25 assists, five digs, one kill and one ace. Maggie Winderman had 10 digs and one ace.
For the Panthers, Stephanie Woolston led the way defensively with 20 kills. Nicole Long had nine kills, and Kelly Scipione had 15 assists.
“We are struggling a bit to find out best lineup and gain some consistency,” Tennent coach Brian Bassler said. “We have some nice spurts and play hard, but we have not been aggressive enough for long enough yet.”

COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 3, HATBORO-HORSHAM 0
In their sweep of the visiting Hatters, the Golden Hawks were led by Hannah Sullivan (eight blocks, five kills, two aces), Ariana Ranieri (five kills, 21 digs, two blocks) and Celina Varian (12 digs, two kills, two aces).

PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH 3, METHACTON 1 (22-25, 25-20, 25-21, 26-24)
The Colonials picked up their second win of the young season, battling it out with the visiting Warriors in a hard fought non-league match.
Lily Acquaviva contributed 14 kills, 15 digs and two aces in an all-around strong outing. Aja Smith led the Colonials with 15 kills to go along with five digs. Setter Bridget McTamney handed out 45 assists and also had 22 digs. Emilee Waltz led the defense with 24 digs to go along with two aces.

ARCHBISHOP WOOD 3, CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 0 (22-25, 23-25, 23-25)
The visiting Patriots were swept by the Vikings, but that doesn’t tell the story of Tuesday’s non-league match between the neighboring schools.
“This was a hard fought game every point,” East coach Kerri Rabberman said. “The girls never gave up and truly played together.
“Wood wouldn’t let anything drop and had great energy the whole match.”
For the Patriots, setter Anna Ritter had 20 assists and three kills. Aurora Budson contributed two blocks, and Morgan Beakley led the defense with 11 digs. Jenn Krzeminski had three aces, 12 kills and five digs. Ysabelle Minschwaner had three aces, two kills and four digs, and Makaila Freeman added five kills and 1.5 blocks. According to Rabberman, Vivien Agassi, Morgan D’Angelo and Courtney Woolslayer also contributed.
