At the SOL Executive Committee Meeting, held Tuesday, May 2, 2017, the committee voted to realign the SOL beginning with the 2018-2019 academic year,
The motion was "To approve the recommendation made by the SOL Realignment Committee to maintain a three-conference league based on the determined criteria of geography, enrollment and traditional rivalries. The recommended alignment does NOT include football or any other sport where all member schools do not field a team".
The new alignment is as follows:
