Coach Heather Boyers says: “Collectively, our four juniors – Reilly, Zacharia, Bella Fiore (DP) and Lizzie Tambourino (2B) have done a great job as they had to step up into a leadership role this year since we have no seniors rostered. They have been working really hard in the past two weeks to get momentum going and kept the energy and enthusiasm high as we prepare to enter the postseason.
“Despite tough losses to PW and Hatboro-Horsham (9 innings) to end the regular season, the girls are playing better softball and have confidence at the plate because they have faced good pitching in those games. Our outfield, Kaitlyn Small (LF), Sage Taylor (CF), Maddie Small (RF) have been very good defensively the past few games, and freshmen Kate Brannigan (SS) and Jolie Sheppard (3B) have really developed over the season to solidify the infield. Sophia Vitella has done a great job demonstrating her versatility, stepping into a number of positions throughout the regular season and gaining more experience with each role she fills, and we are fortunate enough to have two very good runners in Sarah O’Brien and Sophie Cowen, who take over for Garrison and Reilly on the basepaths. Things really seem to be coming together at the right time for us, and we are excited for the opportunity to play in the postseason.”
