COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 4, PENNRIDGE 3
The Golden Hawks played small ball and took advantage of some Ram miscues to earn the hard-fought road win in a game played under the lights at Druckenmiller Park.
“It was a very cold night in Sellersville,” Rock South coach Dan Schram said. “We were missing our catcher. Devon Wach stepped in and did a great job in her absence. We ran and did the little things, and in the end, we put it all together for a close win.”
The Rams struck first with three runs in the bottom of the first. Catelyn Thrush led off the inning with a triple to left field. Katie Buccafuri drew a walk, and then Reagan Bauman lined a three-run home run to center field.
That 3-0 lead stood until the third inning when the Golden Hawks took advantage of a pair of costly Ram miscues as well as back-to-back bunt singles by Kaylie Walters and Gabby Bloom to even the score.
In the top of the sixth, Jordan Bobrin collected a one-out single to center. Avery Tumalo was safe on an error that allowed Bobrin to score a run that turned out to be the game-winner.
“We went down 3-0 in the first inning,” Schram said. “We made a few adjustments, and Lexi Waring completely shut down the lineup for the next seven innings.
“In doing so, she struck out 13 batters. She’s an amazing competitor with a great future ahead of her. The team stuck together, played great defense and did what they had to do to battle another day. Very proud of the kids.”
Waring retired 18 of the 20 batters she faced over the last six innings. Her line for the complete game win was an impressive one. She allowed three hits and three runs – one hit and no runs in the final six. She struck out 13 and walked three - just one walk in the final six innings.
Walters (2-for-3, run scored, 2 SBs) was the lone Rock South player with more than one hit.
Bauman (2-for-3, HR, run scored, 3RBIs) accounted for two of her team’s three hits.
Council Rock South (5-4, 3-3 SOL) will host Central Bucks South on Monday, and Pennridge (4-6, 3-6) will travel to Bensalem on Thursday.

CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 13, HARRY S TRUMAN 0 (5 innings)
The Bucks erupted for seven runs in the first inning on their way to the mercy rule win, and Sienna Lawson did her part, allowing three hits in five shutout innings while striking out five and walking one.
“We are absolutely thrilled by the win,” West coach Ali Coleman said. “We are so proud of the girls and the way they have improved throughout the season so far.”
Chloe Dryden led off the first with a single to center, and one out later Bailey Demusz doubled to right. Abby Lineman followed with an RBI single, and Avery Rubenstein drew a base on balls to load the bases. With two outs, Lawson helped her own cause with an RBI single, and then Taylor Hooven hit an RBI single to right field. After a Tiger miscue, Dryden picked up her second single of the inning, this one driving in a pair. Another run crossed the plate on another miscue, and the Bucks had a 7-0 lead before fans had settled in their seats.
Lineman’s mighty three-run blast to center field highlighted a four-run third inning, and the Bucks were well on their way to the lopsided win.
“Today’s game was another amazing game by our players,” Coleman said. “Every player was aggressive at the plate and played solid defense. Sienna Lawson was absolutely dominant on the mound, throwing a shutout and only giving up three hits. She also stepped up big at the plate with two hits and an RBI. Abby Lineman continued to be a powerhouse with a 3-run home run, a single, and 4 RBIs.
“Every single player contributed to this win. Bailey Demusz went 2-3 with an RBI, Chloe Dryden went 2-4 with 2 RBIS, and Molly Gibson went 2-3 with two doubles. Avery Rubenstein also went 1-2 and had a great defensive play throwing a runner out going first to third.”
Central Bucks West (4-7, 3-6 SOL) will travel to Pennsbury on Monday, and Harry S Truman (4-7, 3-7) will host North Penn on Monday.

HATBORO-HORSHAM 14, ABINGTON 1 (5 innings)
Despite cold, blustery conditions, Kendal Leitner was in complete command in the circle, allowing one hit and one run while striking out 14 and walking six. She also led the Hatters at the plate, finishing 3-for-4 with a triple, one run scored and two RBIs.
“Kendal had a great performance on the mound and set the tone for the game,” HH coach Kelly Krier said. “The bottom of our lineup got us started offensively. Megan Mills and Kiersten Rimer had big hits in the second inning. Marissa Rapino continues to get stronger after her preseason injury. We missed her leadership in a few of our earlier games.”
The Hatters put five runs on the board in the second inning. Tess Kearney drew a leadoff walk, and Maddie Karpovich followed with a line drive single to center. Megan Mills lined a double to center that plated Kearney, and Kiersten Rimer’s double to left plated a pair. The Hatters were aided by an error, Amya Lundy contributed an RBI single, and just like that, the Hatters led 5-0.
An eight-run third inning began with back-to-back leadoff singles by Kearney and Karpovich. Both runners advanced on a sacrifice bunt by Mills. A costly miscue was followed by an RBI double to center by Alyssa Tooley. Then it was Marissa Rapino ripping a triple to right field that pushed a pair of runs across. Leitner followed with an RBI single, and after a walk to Lundy, Abby Waeltz singled home a run. Singles by Karpovich (2 RBIs) and Mills closed out the productive inning. The Hatters led 13-0 on their way to the lopsided win.
“I’m really proud of our team as the season has progressed,” Krier said. “We’ve learned to adjust to new roles and positions. It’s great to see everyone playing an important role in our last few games.”
Also for the Hatters, Karpovich (3-for-3, 2 runs, 2 RBIs), Alyssa Tooley (2-for-4, 2B, 3 runs, 2 RBIs), Rapino (2-for-3, 3B, run, RBI) and Mills (2-for-2, 2B, run, RBI) had multiple hits.
Leanna Schenk accounted for the Ghosts’ lone hit.
Hatboro-Horsham (8-3, 8-1 SOL) will host Springfield Township on Thursday, and Abington (5-5, 4-5) will host William Tennent on Thursday.
