Central Bucks South 3, Quakertown 0
Junior Fran Carrullo was perfect on the mound, retiring all 21 batters she faced to toss the first perfect game in Central Bucks South softball history. The Titans’ mound ace fanned 12. The Titans plated a pair of runs in the fourth. Haileigh Stocks led off with a single and was advanced to second by Morgan Decker. Dani London put the Titans on the scoreboard with an RBI triple. Michelle Gessner followed with a bunt that allowed another run to cross the plate.
In the fifth inning, Tyler Vitelli singled and scored on Sami McDonald’s RBI single. London was 2-for-2 on the day for the Titans, who improved to 8-0 in conference play (9-1 overall).
South will host Pennridge on Thursday while the Panthers will host Central Bucks East.
Hatboro-Horsham 3, Souderton 0
Souderton’s Brittany Beebe allowed just four hits and struck out three, but Hatboro’s Maggie Shaffer topped that, allowing only three hits while striking out seven in a shutout effort.
Souderton had its best chance to get on the scoreboard in the first after Mollie Burrell hit a two-out double. Elysha Sowers followed with a base hit up the middle, but Burrell’s courtesy runner, Corrine Stiles, was gunned down on a perfect throw to the plate.
The Indians managed just one hit the rest of the way. The Hatters capitalized on a pair of Souderton errors, scoring a single run in the fourth and two more in the fifth. Julie Wambold, Chelsea Edwards and Melissa Spinosa delivered RBIs for the Hatters.
Souderton will face Central Bucks West on Thursday while the Hatters will travel to North Penn.
Harry S. Truman 7, Council Rock South 3
The Golden Hawks took an early 3-0 lead, thanks to a three-run third inning, but the Tigers answered with two runs in the fifth, one in the sixth and four in the seventh to earn the win.
Rachael Alligood notched the win on the mound.
Rock South will travel to Neshaminy on Thursday, and Truman will host Council Rock North.
Upper Dublin 6, Cheltenham 3
Amy McCaffrey was 3-for-4 with a two-run single in the first and a three-run homerun in the fourth to propel the Flying Cardinals to the win. Sammy Sitarski and Sam Haber added two hits each.
Kristin Ganderton earned the win on the mound, allowing just two hits while striking out five and walking one. Lesenia Santiago struck out 13 in the loss but allowed 11 hits and walked four.
Cheltenham’s Sabrina Casseus contributed an RBI double in the sixth when the Lady Panthers plated a pair of runs. By that time, the Flying Cardinals led 6-0.
Cheltenham will travel to Upper Moreland on Thursday while Upper Dublin will host Springfield.
North Penn 11, Central Bucks East 0 (5 innings)
The Maidens – apparently frustrated after coming up short in three of their last four games – exploded for 11 hits and 11 runs in their abbreviated five-inning game against the Patriots.
The duo of Steph Kulp and Kellianna Bradstreet combined for a one-hit shutout. They issued only one walk.
The Maidens received big performances up and down their lineup, led by Mary Ward (2-for-3, two runs scored, two RBIs), Jess Mower (2-for-3), Miranda Sergas (1-for-3, 2 RBIs), Steph Farrar (2-for-2) and Michelle Holweger (2-for-3).
The Maidens won’t have long to celebrate the win as they will host the Hatters on Thursday in a key SOL contest while East will travel to Quakertown.
William Tennent 5, Norristown 2
Ashley Alden was a perfect 3-for-3 with a triple, three runs scored and one RBI in the Panthers non-league win over the Eagles. Melissa Simpson also was 3-for-3 while Lia Johnston contributed a pair of RBIs. Kelly Hendrickson notched the win on the mound, scattering five hits while striking out one and walking one.
The Panthers scored one run in the first, two in the third, one in the fifth and one in the sixth while the Eagles plated single runs in the first and sixth.
For the Eagles, Gabbie Berry (double) and Gina Pellechio led the offense with two hits each. Daisy Foster absorbed the loss on the mound, allowing eight hits while striking out seven.
The Eagles will return to action on Thursday at Upper Merion while Tennent will host Abington.
