COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 4, PENNSBURY 3
The Indians took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first and never trailed, although this win was anything but easy.
Rock North up its lead to 3-0 in the third when Chelsea Seiler hit an RBI single. Pennsbury got one of those back in the fourth on a Maddie McClung RBI single. In the fourth, the Indians scored a run that stood as the game-winner, thanks to a sac fly by Kayla Ripper.
Sierra Klein, the team’s lone senior, was recognized for Senior Day and had a sacrifice fly.
Ripper and Seiler both had two hits to lead the Indians. For the Falcons, Liv Czerniak and Maddie McClung had two hits each.
Mia Kiskurno and Lucy Mills combined for the win in the circle.
By the numbers: Council Rock North:  Kayla Ripper (2-for-3, 2B, 1RBI, 2R), Chelsea Seiler (2-for-2, 3B, 1RBI, 1R)
Mia Kiskurno (W) (5.0 IP, 6H, 2R, 1ER, 1BB, 2K), Lucy Mills (S) (2.0 IP, 3H, 1R, 1ER, 0BB, 1K)
Pennsbury:  Liv Czerniak (2-for-4, 1R), Maddie McClung (2-for-3, 1RBI), Jenna Thompson (2B, 1 RBI)
Key innings: Bottom of first: Kayla Ripper led off the inning with a double and advanced to second on Zoe Hornstein’s sacrifice bunt. Chelsea Seiler’s triple to right field plated Ripper, and Seiler scored when Sierra Klein delivered a sac fly to put the Indians on top 2-0.
Council Rock North coach Susan Yee:  It really was a team win today.  The girls worked behind our pitchers to make the plays, and our baserunners did a nice job helping make the most of the hits we got.
“(Pennsbury’s) Kylie Dressel pitched a great game today.  She really kept us off balance.  Pennsbury has really improved this season!  They were so young and inexperienced at the start of the year, and it’s so blatantly obvious the amazing strides they have made in a short time.  I think they are going to give people problems in the playoffs.
“It was a great day for us, being able to secure a win on senior day for our lone senior leader, Sierra Klein.  She has meant so much to our program over the past 4 years, we all just wanted to bounce back and get it done for her today.
“After an emotional setback in our last game, the girls came out and really battled today.
--Pitchers deliver:  Both of our pitchers absolutely pitched their hearts out.  Mia Kiskurno displayed a tremendous amount of grit after being hit twice by come-back line drives off the bat of Jenna Thompson (props to her, she was a monster at the plate today), and Lucy Mills was absolutely clutch coming in for the save in the 6th and 7th.  Lucy really showed veteran leadership against the top of the order in the seventh.  She was poised the whole time, and with the tying run on second, only 1 out, and the heart of their order coming to the plate, she did a tremendous job forcing mishits to close out the game.”

Up next: Council Rock North (13-5, 8-1 SOL) will be on the road Monday for a non-league game at Bristol (7 pm), and Pennsbury (11-7, 5-4) will host Council Rock North on Tuesday.

NESHAMINY 3, HARRY S TRUMAN 2
The Redskins broke a 2-2 tie with a run in the bottom of the third to eke out a Senior Day win over an improved Truman squad that had won three of its last four games. For Neshaminy, Thursday’s game was the third of four games in a row and second win in as many days.
The long ball accounted for the first two runs for both squads. After Marley Montgomery smashed a two-run home run in the top of the first, Kendall McCafferty evened the score with a two-run blast in the second.
The Redskins scored the game-winner in the third, benefitting from a Truman miscue.
Both pitchers pitched well enough to win, but it was senior Maysie Thompson earning the complete game win, allowing just three hits while striking out six and walking five.
By the numbers: Neshaminy:  Maysie Thompson (W) (7-0 IP, 3H, 2R, 2ER, 5BB, 6K)
Jill Rickards (1-for-3, HR, 2RBI, 1R)
Harry S Truman: Marley Montgomery (1-for-2, HR, 2RBI, 1R),
Kendra Schmidt (6.0 IP, 6H, 3R, 2ER, 4BB, 2K)
Key inning: Top of first: With two outs, Marley Montgomery hit a two-run home run that plated Kaitlyn Erhard, who drew a leadoff walk.
Bottom of second:  Kendall McCafferty hit a one-out single, and Jill Rickards followed with a two-run home run to center field to knot the score 2-2.
Bottom of third: Aimee Benjamin, who drew a one-out walk and advanced to second on a single by Frankie Fee, scored the winning run in a Truman miscue.
Neshaminy coach Sarah Martoccio: “We had an amazing time celebrating our seniors today! It was so fun to be able to see all 7 of our seniors on the field at the same time.  Our senior pitcher Maysie Thomson did a fantastic job.
“Truman’s program has seen such tremendous growth this season, and I am excited to see how they will progress moving forward.  This is a long week for us with four games in a row, but the girls are keeping their energy up and will continue to do so tomorrow.”

COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 13, BENSALEM 3 (5 innings)
Rock South celebrated its five seniors with a mercy rule win over the visiting Owls.
“The seniors all had a day on senior day,” CR South coach Scott Molle said. “What a great day to honor our seniors today. With 5 graduating this year we are going to miss these kids and what they mean to this program at South.
“I can’t say enough about what each one of them means to me and how they exemplify the culture that has been created the past two years. We can count on each one of them day in and day out to do anything we ask of them, and they never complain about anything. They are the reason we have been successful, and they have successfully passed that along to our underclassman. We are going to miss them and what they have done for me personally and the coaching staff and we will never forgot the impact they left us with. Shannon Williams - Kelly Delise - Lexi Waring - Veronica Houk and Julia Scannapieco, thank you for allowing me to be your coach, you all will always have a special place in my heart.”
Scannapieco had herself a Senior Day to remember, earning the win in the abbreviated mercy rule win. She also had a big day at the plate, finishing 3-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs.
By the numbers: Council Rock South:  Julia Scannapieco (W) (5.0 IP, 7H, 3R, 3ER, 1BB, 4k, 3-for-3, HR, 2RBI, 1R), Lexi Waring (2-for-3, 1RBI, 1R), Sophia Salamon (2-for-3, HR, 2RBI), Margot McLean (2-for-3, 2B, 2R), Molly Gabriele (1-for-1, 2RBI, 1R)
Bensalem:  Pachucki (2-for-3), Gabi Olivero (1-for-3, 3B, 1R), Ashlyn Merz (1-for-3, 2B), D Olivero (1-for-2, 1RBI, 1R)
Key inning: Top of second: Salamon opened the inning with a single, and McLean followed with a double. Molly Gabriele laid down a bunt that plated a run, and Jenna Pesapane hit a sacrifice fly that put the Hawks up 4-1. Back-to-back singles by Scannapieco and Kelly Delise (RBI) were followed by back-to-back walks. A bases loaded single by Waring put the Hawks on top 6-1. Salamon’s second single of the date plated a pair of runs, and the Hawks led 8-1.
Council Rock South coach Scott Molle:
--Scannapieco in charge:
“Julia Scannapieco had herself a day on the mound and at the plate. Julia has helped us so much this year when we have called on her to take the mound when we need to rest Lexi. She has been incredible for us and has been able to have a perfect record when we use her and that has been what has stuck out with us this year. She understands her role and just wants to do what’s best for the team. There aren’t many Julia’s in the softball world these days and we are so happy that we have been able to be a part of her journey. At the plate today she went 3-for-3 with a walk - 2 singles and slugged another home run this one a two-run shot.”
--Props: “Lexi Waring, Sophia Salamon and Margot McLean each had two hit days for us and had great at bats and were able to get clutch hits to help us secure this win today. Molly Gabriele was a perfect 1-for-1 with a sacrifice and walk and had two RBIs. Veronica Houk and Sophia Salamon both also contributed two RBIs. We had a lot of girls that contributed today, and it was nice to see up and down the line up securing hits and having good at bats. Every girl in the line up reached base and this is what we need moving forward with the season.
“Freshman Margot McLean had herself a day today. Marge has worked so hard during the year and two positions and it’s starting to show us when she gets in a game. Securing two hits today bodes well for us moving forward as we get closer to the playoffs.
“We head to Jersey Saturday night to play a tough Northern Burlington team. Our team looks forward to this challenge and can’t wait to showcase our game in a different state.”
Up next: Council Rock South (14-3, 8-1 SOL) will travel to North Burlington for a non-league game Saturday (7 pm), and Bensalem (4-15, 0-9) will host Neshaminy on Tuesday.

PENNRIDGE 5, CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 2
Averi Dockery - according to her coach – was 'dealing' in Thursday’s game at South, and that is always bad news for the opposing team.  The Florida State-bound senior not only notched the complete game win, she also stepped to the plate in the seventh inning of a tie game - with two outs and nobody on base – and gave the Rams a lead they would not lose with one swing of the bat, hitting a shot over the center field fence for a solo home run.
Later in the inning, Jadyn Gulbinski and Emersyn Lesher added back-to-back RBI singles. The Titans had a pair of two-out baserunners in the bottom of the inning, but Dockery coaxed a popup out of the next batter she faced, and the win was in the books.
Dockery allowed just three hits and two runs – both unearned – while striking out nine and walking two.
By the numbers: Pennridge:  Averi Dockery (W) (7.0 IP, 3H, 2R, 0ER, 4BB, 9K, 3-for-4, 3B, HR, 1RBI, 2R), Emersyn Lesher (2-for-4, 1RBI, 1R)
Key inning: Top of seventh: With the score deadlocked 2-2 and two outs with nobody on, Dockery ripped a solo home run to center field. Lilly Davies drew a walk, and Payton Keyser was safe on an error. Jadyn Gulbinski and Lesher followed with back-to-back RBI singles to give the visiting Rams a 5-2 lead.
Pennridge coach Kristyn Marinelli: “WHAT A GAME! All around, it was an incredible battle by both teams. They’re a very good crew, 1 to 9 and beyond in their lineup, and it was going to be a fight. We played a great game, and Averi was dealing on the mound. When she has her best stuff, I am confident in our ability to hang with anyone. But after she put us ahead in the seventh inning with a line drive homerun to centerfield, I am proud of the girls for continuing to rally with two outs and not be satisfied with a one-run lead. Averi had an incredible day, but she is just one player; we are providing the support that a team needs. We are certainly turning the momentum, and it’s impressive to see.
“Of course, we have some things to clean up, but we were able to find someone to step up in big situations to pull out the win.”
Up next: Pennridge (7-9, 2-5 SOL) will travel to Neshaminy Friday, and Central Bucks South (10-8, 5-4) will host Gwynedd Mercy in a non-league game Monday.

CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 12, CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 2 (6 innings)
It was senior recognition day at Central Bucks West where prior to the start of the game four seniors were honored from Central Bucks East and four more were honored from Central Bucks West. The East seniors were outfielder Anna Devine, catcher Mae Mahony, third basemen Maggie Funston, and outfielder Kaylee Masterson. The home team West seniors who were celebrated prior to the start of the game were pitcher Ana Glemser, second basemen Taylor Hooven, third basemen Laila Murray, and outfielder Avery Rubenstein.
"This win over East was a great way to celebrate our four seniors who have been a big part of this program for the last four years,” West coach Mike Daher said. “Ana, Taylor, Laila and Avery have not only been great players throughout their high school careers, but they have been tremendous leaders and outstanding role models for our younger players.
“I feel truly privileged for having the opportunity to coach them during their last two years at West. They really are terrific young adults. Watching them win on Senior Day meant a lot to me and I am sure it meant a lot to them as well. I really appreciate all that they have done for the West softball program for the last four years. All four of them are extremely hardworking student athletes, as well as being very dedicated softball players and determined young women. They will be missed when they leave this school."

CB East kept the game close through five innings, trailing by a score of 3-1 after five. Pitcher Sarah Zmuda kept East in the game by giving up only three runs on four hits through the first five innings. But Glemser also did a commendable job keeping the East bats reasonably quiet through six frames, giving up only two runs on three hits while walking two batters. Going into the bottom of the sixth inning, West led by a single run, 3-2.
In the bottom of the sixth, the Bucks were able to get their bats going in a big way, scoring nine runs.
Marley Swain reached base all four times she came to the plate with four singles, she also scored two runs and drove in two more.
“(She) was equally impressive in the field making a number of strong defensive plays at first base,” Daher said.
Other contributors included Sam Hooven who drove in two runs with a triple, Jill Boyle with an RBI single, Laila Murray who had two hits and an RBI and Evi Cherry who drove in two runs with an RBI single to end the game in the sixth inning. Glemser threw all six innings for West, giving up only two earned runs on three hits while walking only two East batters. Glemser threw 99 pitches, 59 of them for strikes.

Ana Glemser (W) (6.0 IP, 3H, 2R, 2ER, 2BB, 4K)
Central Bucks East:  M Funston (2-for-3, 2B, 1RBI, 1R), E Bhatt (1-for-3, 2B 1RBI)
Key inning: Bottom of sixth: Swain led off the inning with a single to left, Murray followed with a single and then catcher Hooven cleared the bases with a hard-hit triple into the right center field gap. Pinch runner Cherry would cross the plate on a fielder's choice RBI off the bat of Charlotte Kerns. Taylor Sheplock reached base on an error, and Katherine James drew a walk to load the bases. Glemser and Taylor Hooven both drew walks with the bases loaded to plate two more runs. Swain came to the plate for the second time in the inning and drove in another run with her fourth single of the day, another line drive to left field. Murray drove in run number ten for the Bucks on a hard hit single up the middle. The game would end under the ten-run rule after six innings when freshman catcher Evi Cherry lined a single to right field driving in the last two runs for the Bucks

QUAKERTOWN 11, WISSAHICKON 1 (6 innings)
The Panthers had plenty of reasons to celebrate in Thursday’s Senior Night win that saw all six of the team’s seniors play and contribute.
“We have six seniors, and it was amazing to go and play a game like that on their night,” Quakertown coach Rich Scott said. “They deserve it. I don’t think there’s a better team out there with six wins.”
The night certainly belonged to the seniors. Ava Eatherton had two hits and scored a run, Leah Schwalm, the Panthers’ all-state catcher, had two hits, including a double, and three RBIs. Ava Zebert earned the complete game win, allowing five hits and one run (unearned), and she also had a single and RBI. Carli Maha had two hits, including a home run, one RBI and two runs scored. Colleen Gallagher had two hits, including a home run, one RBI and one run scored, and Olivia Caputo had two hits, including a double, and scored two runs.

NEW HOPE-SOLEBURY 15, CHELTENHAM 0 (4 innings)
The Lions celebrated the team’s seven seniors, and it was an especially good night for two of those seniors. Ella Dudick was 2-for-3, and Brenda Amador - who played softball this season for the first time ever - picked up the first hit of her short career on Thursday.
Several underclassmen also had nights to remember. In a five-run first inning freshmen Riley Sim and Maya Patel both hit home runs.
Mabel Klossner, meanwhile, had herself quite a week. Including four perfect innings in Thursday’s abbreviated mercy rule win, the sophomore threw 11 shutout innings this week and has allowed one hit and one walk while striking out 13.
“I don’t care what the game is, who the team is, a pitcher has to be on and a pitcher has to be throwing strikes in order to do that,” NH-S coach Chris Marchok said. “She was aggressive to the plate both games, and she sets the tone for everyone on the field when she does that. Then at the plate, she was 5-for-8 with three doubles and four RBIs.
“Mabel has worked really, really hard. With a game already that good, she continues to work to improve it. She’s a pretty special kid.”
By the numbers: New Hope-Solebury:  Mabel Klossner (W) (4.0 IP, 0H, 0R, 0BB, 9K, 3-for-3, 2B, 4RBI, 1R), Riley Sim (2-for-2, 2B, HR, 3RBI, 1R), Ella Dudick (2-for-3, 2B, 2R), M aryStefanache (2-for-2, 1RBI), Maya Pa tel (1-for-1, HR, 1RBI, 1R)

WILLIAM TENNENT 21, LOWER MORELAND 3 (4 innings)
The visiting Panters scored seven runs in three straight innings to bring an early end to the contest.
The fun began in the second inning, and the tone was set when Victoria Colagreco smashed a grand slam, turning a 1-0 deficit into a 4-1 lead. By the time the inning was over, that lead had grown to 7-1, and the Panthers added to that lead in each of the next two innings.
Rylie O’Toole’s three-hit effort led the Panthers’ 19-hit attack.
Three pitchers combined for the win.
By the numbers: William Tennent:  Rylie O’Toole (3-for-4, 2RBI, 2R), Victoria Colagreco (2-for-3, HR, 4RBI, 3R), Morgan Kocher (2-for-4, 1RBI, 2R), Sydney Teufel (2-for-3, 3B, 2RBI, 2R), Madison Pirolli (2-for-3, 1RBI, 1R), Jamie Green (2-for-3, 2RBI, 2R), Chloe Hostetler (1-for-1, 3B, 2RBI, 1R)

A fielder’s choice that erased Noll at third was followed by a walk to load the bases, setting the stage for Colagreco’s grand slam. Kocher and Teufel followed with back-to-back singles, and with two outs, O’Toole singled home Kocher. Teufel stole home, and a seventh run crossed the plate on a Lions’ miscue.
